This mount will allow you to mount a Traxxas 2-speed transmission directly into your SCX-10/Honcho, making no permanent changes to your rig so you can change it back at any time.

Summit transmissions are being found on ebay for anywhere between $35-$70.

To make this easier to mount and to have stronger driveshafts I also switch to emaxx shafts when I do this conversion. If you want to do that as well you'll need traxxas part number 4951x and 2 of part number 4928x. The shafts will mount directly to the summit trans, then to mount them to the axle use my, "Maxx shafts made easy" method.

To mount this setup in your scx-10, remove the stock trans and driveshafts. Flip the skidplate so that the transmission holes are on the drivers side. Bolt the summit trans onto the mount using 2 4mm screws, then mount your servo to the plate using 2 of the servo mounts that come with every scx-10 kit.

Slip 2 18mmx3mm screws through the outer stock transmission mounting holes, slide the delrin spacer onto those screws, then drop the whole plate with servo and trans onto the spacer and add 2 3mm nuts to hold it all together.

I currently have 20 of these available to ship, but you'd better act fast, they won't last long.

To purchase send $25 via paypal to jason@rccrawler.com this will include shipping within the US. Be sure to include "trans mount" in the paypal email.
Hello ,

Yes you need a 3 channel radio, no it would not fit in a scorpion, it is made for the SCX-10 line of chassis.

Somebody else mentioned it, seems you did not answer him on this thread, maybe by PM.

So does the tranny still mount on both sides, or does this mount only hold one side?

This mount only mounts one side of the transmission. People that know me know how hard I beat my RC's, being mounted on only one side is not an issue with this thing, it's been holding up great with no issues.
