I'd actually think you'd have too much trouble with power/rpms since you wouldn't have the gear reduction normally present in the transmission.... try running something like an AX-10 tranny with motor attached, then go out of that to the GCM with a fast brushless setup and you'll rip just fine.... (I tried something similar with a castle 5700kv brushless directly into my AX10 with 2.2 flatirons on it and it was outrunning my savageXL and getting close to keeping up with my touring cars that were running the same motor....and could light all 4 tires at once....) |

the hardest part is mounting a trans on the wheely king unless u use the wheely king trans.. cause of the way the frame is.... but i guess the ax-10 and scx-10 trans are strong as hell... i have a scx10 with the hard gears in the trans and the axles with a 9t brushless motor 87/25 gearing and that thing ripped.. with the 2.2 mudslingers... but now it is a crawler with a 35t tekin brushed motor with fxr esc 2s lipo and i run 2.2 cut v-treads in the back and narrowed v-treads in the front with 81/25 gearing it is fast and has alot of grunt..... i will prolly run some sort of tranny somehow thanx for the info |

There's certainly no real way to make a case with this size and still this variability. In order to use different gear sets a new case would be designed, it would have to be larger, and modular to accept new and changing gear mesh and shaft spacing, and likely it would be quite expensive and far less reliable. For over or under driving axle sets, I can only recommend doing that in the differential cases themselves using odd pinion/ring combinations. But anything is possible! |

Re: GCM Transfer Case hey man. got the t-case today, and for some reason no matter how i build it it completely binds, and i cant even turn the shaft while grabbing it with plyers. i tihnk the case is just pinching the pinion gears to the bearings against the case. i watched the instruction video many times, and have had one of the t-cases for a while and that one went together no problem. i have no gaps between the bearings and gears, and cant figure it out. i ahve been trying to make it work a hundred different ways all day... |

Re: GCM Transfer Case I had exactly the same issue. Mine was because the bearings would not slide onto the shafts. They would just slide on to the ends, but then got stuck when i tried to move them along the shaft, which caused the binding when i bolted the case together. I just polished the shafts up with some very fine wet/dry paper until the bearings could just about slide onto the shafts. Everything went together fine after i did that. "thumbsup" |
