i had an issue when i mounted tires/wheels on stock axial straight rear axles shafts....i have RC4WD pro 10 1.9 stamped steel wheels with just axle pin slots....i'm still thinking of going with VP hexes for these wheels if i need to get clearance, has any body else had this issue with these wheels as well....

http://store.rc4wd.com/Pro10-19-Stee...ck_p_1414.html

when i tightened them down with the axle nut they locked the axle from spinning....only thing i can see where it happened is the wheel got pulled against the alum axle bearing retainer cup....i pulled the tire off then removed the alum cup and put tire back on and free as willy the whale....can i file down the outside end of the alum bearing cap to gain the clearance i need....so i don't have the step showing where the cap should be in place, or can i get two caps with the ends CNC/turned down from you ........bob

I have a set of those rims, and I have machined them down for customers also. They don't fit directly onto any Axial stuff. They have the pin drive slot way too far inset, so the hub just binds right to any housing. Very sad, they look great. The fix is to take 1/32 off the back of the hub, then they work (for any axial stuff). rc4wd uses the same hub on the stamped steel wheels, and has the same fitment problem.
The problem is not the bearing holder, it's the rim hub. The axial stockers have the same dimensions as the Metalheads, so considering those rims will lock up on the stock axial housing, well.. they lock on the Metalheads.
Try to trim off the hub first, that way you keep the integrity of the Metalhead parts. The hub will work the same way shaved down or not.

Going to be a close one, but if not end of the month, it will be mid week at the beginning of August.

I am in the middle of another MetalHead run, if you want them by August 6 shipping, then better get your orders in now.

Has anyone done this yet - using the short/short wraith axles? I am curious to see how big this would be.

Done and shipped out, and as usual your shipping info was sent to your payment email address.
We also made a couple of extras of each, so there's some stock now.

Sucks they won't be a normally stocked item.
We now have a few sets in stock, and will try to keep them in stock at low levels. Thanks for the pre-orders since March, fellas. I've loved to see your rigs and your setups.

Don't forget, if you don't want to do any welding on the customizer, you can use a DMG Truss on a Standard set of MetalHeads, and it's all ready to mount.

I agree! The added simpleness to the design flows much better with these axles! I might be doin a swap out for them when I do a 1.9 scaler

Will you be doing AR60 axles? If so I'd like to preorder a set.
