That's for both axles, so each one is about half that weight.

I am actually building a set of tubes for xr10 chubs and knuckles right now I will let you know how it turns out.

Although this MetalHead product line has remained in a pre-order and small production item, we have never stopped making these! They are made to order, but we do try to keep some of the components in stock to make things speedy for most orders on these.
I've been beating my own personal set, the first set ever, since the start, and even after having a massive tumble down a long rock face yesterday, and BENDING an aluminum rim, there's nothing at all wrong with the axle housings. Still drove the rest of the run on the bent rim haha. They truly are bulletproof! And still run silky smooth after all these hours of beating.
As usual, these products evolve over time to meet up with user needs and design changes. We are now going to offer a new pinion member. The item is not listed on gcmracing.ca yet, but will be by end of August 2012. Here's some of the changes and updates:

We have been after a 3rd member-mounted top link, and it has now come to pass! This will allow a direct top link with no welding or truss. Here's the prototype pics etc:



Below is showing the new 3rd cover with our ever popular 0.7inch one sided offset tube set, also custom ordered. These will require the end user to make up one long axle and one short axle to get the wheels to drive again, we don't provide these axles at all.



Here's some pictures I took yesterday of a real nice, innovative, clean full droop setup used on a custom GCM frame my friend and customer MattS. This is so simple, and works so well. These are centered-pig diffs, MetalHeads, and using the new pinion with the top link mount. This setup also uses flipped lower mount tabs, for some extra link clearance down low. I've seen this truck crawl, and the geometry on this setup is flawless.

My sentiments as well. It's hard to justify spending money on killer axles if we can't have killer steering as well. I've been waiting to see how things go on your end. If you can integrate the xr universals and knuckles along with your new killer mods, I think your axles would be flying out the door. Keep us posted. Paypal ready!

Really all you have to do it make new tubes for the length of the axles and adjust the tube Dia where you would mount the chubs. I ended up having to cnc the new tubes. Then I tapped all of the holes by hand. I think that Generis will end up producing these but I will let him chime in on that.

Well I just got shipping confirmation of my new tubes from Generis that are machined for wraith c's / knuckles and will be able do drop in stock xr10 universals. However I have prdered some new super300 HD shafts that can allow for up to 70* steering. Can't wait to put it all together and have my beef-cake and eat it too!

Here is the new setup... tubes cut to fit XR-10 universals up front and matched to rear w/ custom shafts. This puts me at 1" wider then a wraith. Did I mention these are machined for wraith knuckles and c's! Even notched for the hub to clock and stay super solid!!!
