Turning them down a little isn't that difficult if you have the right equipment but I would let the experts handle it. I'm going to measure the I.D. of mu narrowed stock wheels and compare them to my slw's. Hoping they will still work.

if not please let me know. we will work with any customer to maximize weight OD based on wheel ID limits.

took a couple pics and measurements from my xr10. i've done the flipped stock knuckle mod and have narrowed stock wheels.

as you can see from my measurements the stock wheels are 47.8mm I.D. compared to the vp slw at 42.5. that is a full 5mm of additional clearance that could be filled with brass!!! the only question is if the narrowed stock wheels are spaced far enough from the knuckle so they don't rub the weights. we'll have to see...

yep that's the problem... trying to make these damn things work with all wheels.

i have a new idea in the works that should solve all the problems. i hope to have pics up by the weekend.

FYI the issue we encountered with stock XR10 wheels is not the ID of the wheels... but that the wheels are offset so far towards the center of the axle that the nubs retaining the bullet weights interfere with our weights.

of course if you are using our weights then you don't need wheel weights so you could grind them off...

i'm hoping the trimming i had to do to narrow the wheels will be enough to clear the knuckle weights. i know i can take them off completely but i want to be able to keep some weight in the wheels so i'm hoping the combo works. are you looking for someone to size them up???

after looking at your original pics i think it is going to work. the narrowed stock wheels push the weight tabs further away from the knuckle. it appears your weights are about flush with the front of the stock knuckle, which i think would be fine.

Hello Cutthroat !
I'm the guy from France but can't show up my build as I'm still waiting for my axles and my damned esc but soon. Was anybody able to test the rear weights with vanquish lockouts ?
As soon as I'll get mine, I'll post to show them...

is it just the angle of the picture or is the weight on the right side of the picture tilted a lot more than the left (top inward)? i know these were not intended to match the angle of the kingpin but that seems like a lot.

cutthroat, i was curious if you were making some adjustments to the O.D. to fit the SLW? if so how much weight might that take off?

i think i can make them work with the SLW wheels without reducing weight.

there will be a new machining operation so the cost will go up a little... unless i can figure out how to bring it back down somewhere else in the process.

the next weight i'll show you (next week) will fit the STOCK axial wheels and will be the first of our second generation axial knuckle weight system.

after i make sure it works 100% the "SLW friendly" wheel weight will be soon to follow.

thanks to cyprinhunter, ROLANDROCKSHOP and everyone else for the tips and measurements.
