I recommend "setting up" the locker outside of the axle. Loctite the set screws and thread them in.. Insert the axle shaft into the locker, finger tighten the set screws evenly until they are barely coming in contact with the axle shaft to the point where you cannot really twist the axle shaft.. Then remove the axle shaft. Install the locker into the axle with the bearings & retainers, insert the axle shafts for final install (you should have to turn the axle shaft until it lines up with your previous "setting up" of the locker set screws).. Then, tighten the screws evenly on each side of the axle shafts and it should be pretty close to center. Count your "allen key turns" (ie 1/4 turn, 1/2 turn) from each side during final snugging of the set screws to ensure that the shaft ends up really close to center.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks,

-Rick

They are big M5 set screws that clamp down on the axle shafts.

The ring gear screws that come with these lockers are Stainless Steel. I would imagine they are stronger than what is most commonly used.

I don't currently have any available but, I'll add you to the list and notify you when they are available.

Yes, plz do.. I ask because I have broken these before.. But, it looks like yours are easily removed from the back if I did break the 4 screws..

Ummm...just so you know. Stainless steel machine screws are generally 70ksi strength vs alloy steel at 180ksi.

Thanks for the heads up.

The M5 set screws are indeed "black alloy steel". The M2 ring gear screws are 18-8 SS.
