Agreed! I have the V1's and although I haven't used them they are A++ quality and the machine work is awesome! And he wasn't able to get them shipped out for a couple days so he offered to refund me shipping costs thanks! Highly recommend

I must have underestimated the high power to weight ratio's people are running nowadays when I chose to go with aluminum for the V1's. I focused more on weight savings with those ones. It would appear that those are ideal for lightweight competition rigs or more of a entry level, stock trim scaler type of rig.

I wondered about that when the aluminum came out, nature of the beast with steel shafts in an aluminum slot without a set screw to hold it tight. My bonus line lockers are just starting to warble out a bit more than I like, so put me down for two of these in stainless.

Well, the rig it was in was one of the lightest sportsman rigs around. It is at 3lbs 6.5oz rtr.. So I don't think weight was a contributing factor. I don't blame the quality of the spool at all. It has great machining and a overall tight hold of the shafts. The rig has a beast of a 30t holmes brushed motor. To add to it, I am running 14/87 gearing of 3s. Just stupid power for a comp rig.

The rig had flipped over, and when trying to flip it, it jammed between a tree and a rock and that is when it stripped. Too much power in a tight situation is what did it. Again, not the spools fault at all. I don't want people to get the wrong idea about the V1 spools at all.
