| Delrin Bully style hubs Delrin hubs are now in stock and shipping! These hubs are made for the Bully style shafts that have a 8mm stub shaft. Supers and I believe the V6 (?) axles should all be able to use them along with my Dlux 7075 rear axle shafts. $14 per pair. Right now I am only doing these sizes in VP equivalents: 225 475 600 If you need different sizes, you can use a hub spacer. If there is a demand for something larger, like an 850, I can make those. Right now I am just trying to do the most popular sizes. These are already on my site under the "Berg" section. DLUX FAB | products And now offering a stainless narrow, 0 offset version! If youre familiar with Vanquish SLW hubs, a 225 hub is .225" wide, a 475 is .475" wide. These follow the same system and they can sit on the hex pin so that is why they are called "0". They are .225 narrower than a 225 VP hub. I have been selling and making a version of these for quite some time. I have always made them from 7075 but am now having them made from stainless which is proving to be a much better material. These hubs are for Bully or Ofna style shafts that have a 8mm stub shaft. These will not fit a typical Axial style stub. The intention of the 0 offset hub is to get as narrow as possible. Now, with my Dlux knuckles, you can achieve a narrower wheel track width than even possible with the Axial setups. This is really a great option for sportsman style cars that want to use a Wraith axle in the front but dont want to be wide, Supers looking to be narrower or for less scrub or for XR's or Wraiths that want to run the indestructible 8mm stub shaft with my custom shafts and knuckles. Not only do these make you narrower but another huge benefit of this style hub in general is that it only uses the hub, not the hex and hub like found on other cars. This simplifies things and also eliminates the need for a wheel nut. You will never have a wheel nut come loose again since these dont have any! There are two bolt patterns on these hubs. Both are the VP bolt pattern but you should be able to fit an RC4wd wheel on them also with some work. There are 4-40 threads and 3mm threads. Another great feature is that you can flip the hub for a 1/8" track width change per side. So, one set of these and you will have one width and then 1/4" wider or narrower depending on how you flip them. And now, with the 12mm hex option... I am not offering a modded a 12mm hex to fit the 8mm stub shafts. This will allow the use of any wheel or hub that you would use with a "normal" hex setup on the Axial units, no different. What you do to make this work: Buy modded hexs Grind/cut off the excess stub shaft until its flush with the hex (I can provide this service) Insert either a 4mm screw into the threaded stub shaft to hold the wheel on OR I prefer to use a 4mm set screw that is Loc Tited in and use a standard nut, just like your Axial setup. You can put an 8mm stub shaft onto a Axial inner shaft and vice versa. Hopefully that makes sense. There are so many options for the 8mm stub shaft that it gets confusing. Let me know if you have questions. Last edited by Erik D_lux; 02-22-2016 at 09:56 AM. |

You lose a lot of weight with these hubs. Shown below are Delrin hubs in a 475 size compared to a SINGLE 225 hub with hardware. If you were to compare the Delrin hubs to a larger SLW hub size, you would lose even more. If you run a SLW 600 hub on the back now and switch to the Delrin hubs, you would lose approx 3/4 of an ounce by just going to these hubs. |

The delrin hubs are not threaded. I suggest a 4-40 screw. M3 screws do not have the best thread pitch and can cause the delrin to strip really easily. I have had really good luck and a long life span using a 4-40 screw. If you want to use M3 screws or want a more bulletproof setup, you can use the brass inserts. If you want to go the brass insert route, you will need to drill the holes to .150. Do this in steps so you do not drill the bolt pattern off. Mcmaster part number for the threaded inserts is: 94510A030 Here is how the hubs work. Pretty simple. First, you have 4 total pieces. The Delrin hub, the hex pin, the set screw and the axle stub. To install, first put the hub on the stub and align the holes for the hex pin. Now install the hex pin After installing the hex pin, you will want to put a set screw in the end of the shaft. This set screw will press against the hex pin and hold it in. Last edited by Erik D_lux; 03-31-2014 at 08:29 AM. |
