At more than one point in my TZ-2500 build, I had thought about installing the axles at the "wrong" ends and going with a rear motor. Problem is, as wide as my axles are, the VW Bus body I would need to cover the thing would be HUGE, if I could even track one down. The realism would be spot on with the weight in the back, though.

But I would think this chassis setup was more than likely conceived to get the weight forward for better crawling performance (since most crawlers climb in forward). On a rock-racer, you might not be 'shooting yourself in the foot', but since most here are more about the crawl, it would make sense that most are going to install it motor-forward.

But don't let that deter you.

And post up a build thread, we'd love to see the direction you take it.

I'll definitely try to keep a build thread going, I don't have a very good history with it. Here's what I have marked up so far used quarter inch dowels

Hey sorry to bother you but I'm kinda confused abut the top shaft that I put in your divorce kit. In Harley's video he uses the shaft with the two flat sides instead of the pin style shaft. Well I have three of the flat style shafts and none are as long as the one Harley is using I have the same slipper as far as I can see. But even with only one spacer there's not enough shaft for the slipper plates and spur on the flat part of the shaft. And then there's not enough room for the spring. Is there e two different length non pin style top shafts?

Yes there is.. Harley used the old school slipper shaft and drilled it out for the trans. Then he used the newer style slipper up front with the flats. Sounds like what you have is the old non slipper. That assembly will drop right in with no spacers just the way it came out of the trans.

yeah I know how to make it work without the slipper but for what I'm doing I kinda want a slipper. The only place I can find the shaft in the video is on Amazon. Sold out on axails site and A main doesn't have em. On a side not the top shaft for the axail two speed fits with a slipper

I had to switch to the new dual pad slipper because the old one wouldn't clear the servo on the VP CMS plate.

I just bought the 2 speed axial shaft and cut it shorter actually might be a good option for some people because you can make the shaft a lot longer and put a hole in it down closer to the end of the motor-can for custom situations. They had it in stock it worked for $8, and I wanted to put the dang thing together so bam! Lol

Also instead of being retained by the driveline it has a c clip which I hope doesn't turn out to be a weak link.

They're both $67 shipped. The aluminum is now only used for the SCX10 motor mount and the G10 motor mount is for the ToyZuki Chassis.

I shot you a PM about ordering a chassis. Just wanted to see if it went through.
Wrong product. Will post under chassis.

Thanks!

Hey just wanted to post up my install. Toyzuki shipped mine out the next day, which is great for a custom part.

With a little massaging everything clears.

Using Vanquish panhard/servo mount. Custom 3 links for a 12" wb

I don't know how to post a photo at the moment

Just need to mention my toyzuki setup on KLR's with a mid mounted battery under the tranny is extremely capable.
It can crawl lines many 2.2's struggle with.

It's been some work and tuning time, but it's my go to for just about anything.
