Bronze bushings for SDS 300HDs
 

Ok, I'm crawling out from under my rock to make a limited set of these bushings.
These are made from 510 Super bronze.
Yield strength is 80,000 psi, whereas the 360 brass list a yield strength of 15,000 psi.
All my measurements were taken from a brand new unused set of SDS 300HDs and I tightened up the tolerances.
The bushing may seem snug over the cross pin but the way the cross pin was machined, it was left with a small burr on the end. A light corner buff will remove the burr and the bushing feels great over the pin.
The durability of this bronze is supposed to be amazing but I haven't tested any yet, regardless it is a replacement for those who need bushings and it should be way better than the brass.

Thanks, I never made these before. I'm just trying to replace the consumable part to a great combination that SDS used to make.
Unfortunately, these will be the only parts I will be making while I have the time.

Haha, I would so love to hold these parts ransom for a set of UNIs. :twisted:
I have a set for my Wraith but I need a set or two to modify for a Berg.

Take a auto shim about .015" thick and cut a "U" slot in the end. Use it to push the CirClip off the bushing. Just be sure to do this over a white towel just incase the clip goes flying, shouldn't travel too far.

ahhh, i get it now. i have super 300 CVD's not universals. i was really confused for asecond.
