p.s. the abbreviation for cat scan is CT scan and it stands for computed tomography scan. i checked google a few weeks ago cause ive had a few of them done lately for kidney stones and wondered why it had that name. Last edited by crawlerwon; 07-16-2015 at 10:44 AM. | |

Moa motor guards now available for the Holmes Hobbies puller 400 motors. Very little area touching the motor and it is vented and you can see your pretty motors. So its NOT a "motor blanket!"... Quote by B.C. Paints! My motors don't get hot anyways Ryan....More pics can be seen in the Crawlerwon berg build thread. It is a modded version of the guards I already make for a 540 can. From now on all guards will have this added cut/heat vent on the top for Ryan or anybody else who's motors get hot. The guard on the right is how the shims will be installed on the bottom, extra shims will come with the guards to place where you want them. These moa guards are wayyyy better looking and smoother than Troy's guards. But his are a smidgen lighter and 2mm more ground clearance. Your puller motors cost a small fortune don't scratch em all up! You need Barry's R/C Carbon Guards! Extra work to make these....$35.00 a Pair shipping included.

Just so there is no confusion....I gotta spend an extra 30 mins modding the 540 size Moa guards to work on puller motors.... so they are $35.00 shipped not $25.00 like the stock can size.

Those look great Barry do they hold in any heat in? My 400s run pretty warm with a 14t pin and Greg is calling for more wheel speed so I'm more concerned about heat than scratches.

Actually the guards when used on a 400 have a venting gap around them so they do not hold in the heat. If you look much more closlier in some of the pics above you can see where there is a 1.5mm gap around the can area and it has alot of material removed from the top half of the motor. So no they don't hold in any heat at all.
