Default OTVD Steering axles!

Presenting our new OTVD.

Locked Up RC is happy to present our solution for those that are looking for a stronger, reasonably priced, replacement steering axle shaft for their AX10/SCX10.
Although these units offer twice the strength of a stock "CVD", we stuck with the "OT" name because you all know and love it!

OT shafts offer several improvements over other shafts:
1. Torsional tensile strength rating of 180in/lbs. That is double a typical stock CVD shaft, which suffers destruction in the 70-85in/lb range.
2. We thread the end of the shaft several extra turns vs some other aftermarket shafts. So if you are trying to narrow up your rig with narrow hex hubs and our .185 SLW hubs you can run them with less or no washers behind your wheel nuts.
3. We use a coil to keep the pin in. This means you can assemble the shafts and leave them in your parts bin and they won't come apart like other units.
4. 50* of steering throw.

Even with these improvements these are usually a direct replacement requiring little or no modifications to a stock vehicle.
You can expect a direct slide in fit or light press fit with stock lockers...
They will be tight with an FI Spool, because we make FI spools to be tight with everything!

Compared to a standard CVD:

No animals were harmed in the making of this product... but a lot of metal was ...

thanks for reading!

Nice product! How about a 'builders' set with a few inches of tang so that they would be a breeze to modify for narrowed housings?

If you mean our Clockable C Hubs and High Steer Knuckles, then yes, absolutely. Note though that those are not 8*, they work with standard SCX10 parts.

We actually recently added all those parts to our VUCK build (with a bunch of other stuff):What the Vuck?!

Rock Jocks don't include differentials, knuckles or C's... but provided whatever you have/put on there meets stock specs, then I can't see why not.

FWIW,
Stock and Aluminum Axial C-Chubs have an inner measurement of 14mm between the upper and lower arm.

So with these at 13.95 for the OD on that stub, they will be a tight fit, but have cleared everything we have mounted them on.

If you run some other inner C, or yours make contact, it would be super easy to polish the C for clearance.

Hello, I know you people do rigorous R&D, I am curious what real life torture you have performed. My friend and I have big Holmes systems on 3s but have trouble keeping Vanquish vvd axles from breaking frequently. Before anyone claims we are mindless bashers and that is why we break all our stuff, I have been in this hobby 37 years and my friend almost as long. He has been building custom crawlers since before Axial came along using Tamiya parts. I like Locked Up RC products but also don't mind spending the money if something better is out there. We both understand breakage is certain, we don't really mind that much, but sometimes you get tired of swapping axle shafts in muddy trucks...LOL. Thank You

We have a lot of people running these now and they perform quite well... but they are not indestructible. If you are breaking VVDs, these are not going to change much for you..

Our laboratory testing puts these VERY close in strength to the VVDs. So if you are breaking those, I'm sure you will break these with similar frequency.

Having said that ... the OTVD may be less costly for you to replace.
