Default 2015 gears turnin!

May be opening a can of worms here Any suggestions on dates or changes? what can I do to maximize attendance next year? Id really like to get back to 50+ drivers; its gonna be tough as the number of competitors has been dropping off steadily, and I know at least 5 locals that wont be back for next season. help me help us.

Agreed but a lot of guys have sold their comp rigs and will not be back.

Build your local scenes gents. From the scale scene will rise future comp kings.

Rebirth precedes rebound.

Was thinking about this the other day.. And almost pm'd you about it.

I really liked the date we had it on this year. Earlier in the year is nice.. Early to mid May.

How do you grow an event and get more attendance.. Now that's tricky.

I know a lot of people didn't attend this year because they were saving money for nats. With nats being on the West coast next year I have a feeling overall attendance will improve. I have attended this event the past two years.. And it has been a blast both times. Hopefully we have a good crowd next year!

Do you have a club member/friend that can make Comp Flyers for your club? I'm going to see if the LHS will let us advertise our Comp Flyers at the shops…We used to do this a while back and it kind of died off...so I will try it again...

yep , ME HAHA , I'm going to put more in there next season, I was thinking I would see if I could stick NARCCA business cards to all the axial rigs there as well.

I was talking more along the lines of what are the main things besides money that are holding people back from going to the BIG events , is it the schedule ? the location? Lack of something?

To any of those who went last year what could have been improved on or different?

IF I was able to choose/work out/afford another location other than Prescott , like Phoenix or Vegas with an airport, would it be easier for those who are traveling, or is it worth the drive?

IF we were able to run 2 classes in one day each day (saturday/sunday) would it help?

thanks for the input ;)

if we all advertise and push our buddies to go....we should get a good turn out
I'm not sure how to make it any better ....Susie Q and I always have a great time.
I love the outdoors and a challenging course.

Personally, I feel the exact same way. I have had a great time both years. Large or small, they are still enjoyable

I know I have tried to make it over for the last two years - Being in Vegas it isn't to bad of a trip.
But like last year, it was the weekend after Scale Champs in Utah.

What about making it into a two day event? I think having anything on Friday makes it tough, because not everyone can get off work. Could do pro and super on Saturday. Sporty, trail class, and 1.9 on Sunday. Start EARLY both days.

This is the way they run at the NENQ, and that seems to work really well for them. Just an idea

im thinking thats where its at as well long days but im sure it will be fine. especially if we run two classes at once. there were such low numbers in 1.9 and super they could be shoved in anywhere really.

I agree. The days might be longer, but as long as we get started early and try best to stay on track, I think two days would be fine. Depending on numbers, super and mini could probably be ran on Saturday after pro. That way sporty and trail class are ran on Sunday, and we could finish up a little early that day.

Vegas would be cool. Thats 5 hours less driving for me. Also cheaper airfare, rental cars, and hotel.

Agreed. Are there any local guys still crawling out there?

I think the two day format would work great, especially since numbers are down in the other classes.

I'll be honest, it was tough to fit everything in and it made it a long day. If you have a good core group of guys to help like I did it makes things go smoothly. Next year we will do something different. I am interested to see how qualifiers and championships will play out with the changes to USRCCA and the process of getting invites.

Vegas has all scalers atm. There is two of us that have been talking about building comp rigs but I don't see many more jumping on.

Fun town but we got SO lucky on the weather last time. It could be brutal hot. We need an indoor spot at a casino.
