North Bay RC Crawlers 2008/2009 Club Series:

With the start of the new club, comes r/c crawler comps and a point series. Everyone is welcome to attend the club comps, hosted in and around Santa Rosa. The club point series is a great way to be involved with crawler comps, at a slightly higher level.

There will be a minimum of 5 comps in the series, but we will try to get as many in as we can through May. There will be one throw-out comp, which means your lowest score will be not be counted, allowing a driver to miss an event or have a bad day.

For each comp 100 series points will be awarded for 1st place, 99 for 2nd, 98 for 3rd, all the way down to the last competitor in each comp. One bonus series point will be awarded to the driver with the lowest score on each course. (In the case of tied low scores on a course, no bonus will be awarded for that course.)

The donation to be counted in the points series is $20.00 and must be paid by the 3rd event (the February event). All drivers will get scored at each comp, but only those who paid for the series will be eligible for awards and for representing the NBRCC Club at the season final comp.

The 2008/2009 Club Series will also determine which drivers will represent the NBRCC club during the Northern California season final comp in June, 2009. This event will be hosted by the Nor-CalRCRC Club and will be a shootout of all the Northern California Clubs. The top 2 drivers will be getting a spot at the 2009 Nationals.

At this point we're unsure of the number of NBRCC drivers heading to the Nor-Cal season final comp. It will be based on the # of entries at our comps. But, our Club series determines who's eligible to represent us.

Series standings will be posted in the NBRCC Club sections of www.jphracing.com and also in the comp results section of www.rccrawler.com

The NBRCC Club is looking forward to a great 2009 season of crawler comps. We sincerely hope you'll be a part of the club, the comps and the series.

Nice to see something starting in the North Bay. Do you have any dates or sites chosen yet. Are these events going to be run on different weekends other than events put on by the other clubs? If so, we can comp almost every other weekend or so:lol::lol::lol:

No confusion, it was just decided on. Due to the troubles last time, and the fact that most people really didn't care about the name as much as getting the club formed, it just got taken care of. It's more important to enjoy crawling, than bicker about a name "thumbsup"

Crawler Comp:

January 11th is the next crawler competition in Santa Rosa. It will be "Under the 101" again, along the Santa Rosa Creek. The new NBRCC Club will be hosting the event, and this will be event #2 of their 2008/2009 Series. (more info below). Check out www.rccrawler.com in the Comp section for more info. You can also call or e-mail JPH for a flyer or to have questions answered.

New Crawler Club:

That's right! The North Bay RC Crawlers (NBRCC) have formed up and are ready to take on new members. Our local crawler club will be hosting events, running a comp series, holding some meetings, and promoting the fun side of r/c rock crawling and r/c crawler competitions.

More info on the club and the series can be found here: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/california/150584-north-bay-rc-crawlers-nbrcc.html You can also contact JPH for more info and to join the club.

Judge and Scorekeeper meeting:

Well, the next comp is fast approaching and we need to have a meeting with those guys and gals interested in being a Judge or Scorekeeper during the 2009 season. Many of you have already volunteered, but we do need back up people. The meeting will go over basic rules and procedures, answer specific questions on rules, and be a chance to do all this without a comp going on.

The date will be Thursday, January 8th, at the Rohnert Park Round Table Pizza. The meeting will start at 7:00 pm.

The meeting is open to all drivers who are interested in helping out at the comps, or those just wanting to know more about the rules.

Hope to see you there!

Jake
