Default bay area trail ride/crawl (SEPT. 25) WITH PICS!

Look how sick this looks!

I would like to have a get-together where we do a trail run like this but we have chains on our rigs and we help (pull) each other out of trouble when a truck can't make it over something like wheels and I did.

So I think we should start scouting out an ideal location for this type of get-together.

I think this type of run would be very time consuming so I would expect to be there for several hours.

What do you guys think?

I'm in. There's Santa Teresa Park in San Jose that's got some pretty knarly trails. I ride my MTN. Bike there. Just an Idea. I bet Kevin's Mini Hammers trail would be a good bet too.

rckjeep, you said you know of a trail to go to. Is that a deffinite good location? If so, we just need to set a date.

Ideally I would like to have a front bumper of my truck before so I can mount some chain to it.

I am building a new more scale rock crawler out of my clod axels with a 1947 Dodge Power wagon. Hope I have it done to run the trail with you all. I am in tell me when.

Since there has been some talk about running this Saturday, what do you guys think about doing the trail ride instead of the normal get-together.

Lets get a tally of who can make it THIS SATURDAY THE 25th. Probably somewhere in San Jose. rckjeep/wheels will let us know where it is exaclty.

This is going to be a TRAIL RIDE where we follow the leader and help each other with winches/bumpers with chain.

I may just have to make then. Not sure where Wheels spot is but the place I'm think would be a long trail but not covered with big rocks. it maybe fun though I have never driven there yet just riden my mountain bike there many times.

I have a Sony MiniDV camcorder I can bring along with my digital camera. The only problem is it is hard to take video while driving. So if we don't have a dedicated camera person then it would just take longer to stop and shoot footage with playing. Which I don't mind doing.

I will bring the camcorder and camera with me.

I have heard about your kind.... bring out the hot looking girlfriend to distract everyone while you win the race!

Seriously, that would be cool. I think we would get alot more and better footage if we have a dedicated "film person". I just don't know anyone that would be willing to do it.

Wheels, so were are gonna do this. Are we going to your spot or ST park? The trail I'm thinking of is Stiles Ranch Trail on the back side of the back. Easy to get to from the almaden side. Whatcha think?
