When the weather clears up abit- Best local spot is still Millerton ($10 a car), or Bass Lake if ya don't mind the drive. Nothing planned- usually spur of the moment gtg. .

Now that's just mean
I'm a little rusty on the wheel/trigger, had 3 mo. downtime- but that's not making an excuse! LOL
Had PlanB out at Millerton twice few wks ago and I'm finally getting the feel for the torsion chassis.
Gotta drive a little slower (deliberate) than Im used to, but definitely loving the dark side. . .

Welcome back DD, can't wait to here about your trip. I'm just putting the finishing touches on the scaler. Need a real motor and it's ready to go. Merry Christmas all!

Here's my SCX-10 I patiently pieced together thru EBAY.
With everyone giving all the love to the Chevy Blazers and Defender bodies, I wanted a full size bronco body, since I own one. And unfortunately, only one company made one, and let's just say it's sub par. From the front doors to the rear, okay, it looks like a bronco. Doors foward, it looks like some lazy ass at the PARMA factory just modified the mold for a Ranger or some other truck. The hood line has too much angle and windshield is too short.
So here we go, painted to match my 95' Bronco.

The bulbous fender flares wern't doing it for me

So the defender body made a donation

I wanted an interior, so that got installed. I had to take 3/8" out of the roof bars to make it fit the Bronco's roof line.

I thought this was where's i stopped, but I wanted to get more creative.

So she went topless! And I mounted the spare like it should be.

Still needs blue pin stripping, but i'll wait till I know I can do it right.

Here's the only other scale full size I've seen and I think it is insanely fricken awesome!

^What's up- There really isn't alot to crawl on in Fresno besides homemade backyard courses at a few guys places. .For anything vertical you have to hit up the foothills and/or nearby lakes (Millerton, Shaver, Bass, Eastman, or as Lawlessjr posted - Kaweah). Hensley lake had some nice rocks but they were a p.i.a. to get to easily. .Checkout the Central Valley Rock Crawlers thread(s) here in Ca. & Competitions, our last local comp was @ Bass Lake- Rocky Point, in a couple weeks there's 1 up north.

Hey guys I'm planing a weekend getaway type trip. I was wondering what areas was better for crawling Bass lake or Kaweah lake? If you have any other good spots close by those would help too. If you do recommend either could you maybe include maps of where the spots are. thanks

Default Bass Lake

So the family and I went up to Bass lake this weekend. I had a chance to get to the scx10 of and took some pics.

And at the end of the day I decided to strike a pose.

I took a lot more but I liked these the best. All in all we had a great weekend.

I'll have to finish up my 6x6 rebuild. Should take a week. I really like to get to the real rocks, above shaver. Its a little bit of a drive, but its well worth it.

Lets get something planned! I'll travel anywhere within 60 mi of fresno. I am not going to Eastman lake again. Whimpy rocks compared to the real sierra nevada.

The sunday after the 15th might be good for me. I'm broke till then and gotta go to Reno get my daughter. I say Lake Kaweah. There's some neat areas there and past the lake before the park.
