Has anyone ever noticed the rocks outside the Sears Auto Center at the Plaza? There are a lot of rocks out there. I wonder if we could get Sears permission for a small get together or just some free time crawling?

Poor to say the least. I 40'd the first and thrid stages and time'd out on the second. The terrrain was interesting becuase it was super grippy, like 10 grit sand paper. There was so much much traction that I had to relearn how to drive. Nice spot and super nice area though.

Looking for some feedback guys ... The crawler course in nearing completion and I'm wondering what to do about a get-together ... I could: A) Have a fun run on it, with the full setup. B) Have a fun run on a limits amount of the layout, as a teaser. C) Host a fun comp right from the start. D) Host a full out comp right from the start. I'd like to do a 3 comp series, with the best 2 out of 3 counting towards some awards. But, I concerned that not everyone is interested in comping their rig... I want this to be fun and cool for everyone! So, what do you think? How do I start things guys? Jake |

I think the fun run is the way to go first to get an idea of who wants to compete, then kick off the 3 comp series. Can't wait to run this course.

Jake - I'd say start with a GTG and use that to promote the Comp. series. Either way I'm there with all my rigs. - Erik

| Other GTG or comp worth spots?
So anyone ever been to Crane Creek on Pressley Rd? Also heard about a spot on Calistoga Rd. where it ends, behind a gas station on the right, sound familiar anyone? Thanks for the input guys. I'd like to hear from more guys. If we do a GTG, then I think I'll just bring a limited amount of course for testing. I'll save the whole course for the comps. I have a panel at the shop right now. Dan wheeled it a little to test for me. This one's been sprayed with bed liner, for a different surface. The panel will be at the shop for a day or two, bring a rig and a radio and give it a try! Crawlin': Got an order of KC Racing motors in. 45, 50 and 60 turn motors. Mad4Rnr: Crane creek is good in the summer, when the creek is dry. But, watch out for the rangers, they'll give you the boot for having anything R/C in their park! |

Travis and Mike stopped by the shop and did a quick session today. Here's what this panel looks like ..... I'm gonna make another one with the bed liner coating, it's working great.

Crawlin' came by and tried his super on the panel this afternoon .... His comment was "It's much harder than it looks!" (the pic is his rig) Crispy also tried his 2.2 tuber on it ... but, his hired driver took out a drive line asap. Last edited by JPH Racing; 02-20-2008 at 11:12 PM. |

Jake - Those are looking pretty good. I think a GTG might be a good idea to do first. This way we can see if they need to be "tweaked" at all before having a comp. |
