FINALLY! I have been looking for crawlers in my area for around a year now so add me to the list I live over by Coddingtown and I've lightly browsed around my area and haven't been able to find much.

So I went down to the Santa Rosa Creek and tried it out and it worked out great, my truck is in a sense a scaler and it did fine it is a little under powered but I think it is a great spot till we can find others or maybe make some of our own which I am currently looking into. I say we can probably put about 10-20 people there comfortably, I took a couple pics but since it's under a bridge they are kind of poor but here they are anyways. |

Hey Chevy, welcome to the thread! I rode along the creek today and took a look. The spot I was checking out was on the upper side of the path, the rocks with some cement dumped on them. I think it might be a little further West from the bridge? I'm not sure if we would get the boot if we ran down in the creek? Keep us posted if you build your own spot (or if you get the ok and need some help building it). Also, hope to see you on the 15th at the shop. Jake |

Well you might have actually passed me, I was riding too, black hat backwards sunglasses black shirt and shorts with a backpack on a OD Green BMX bike but I was there around 2:30 3:30 ish but I don't think we would get the boot as long as we aren't super loud and not there for more than like 5 hours.. yea I came in at the bridge right next to Sears Auto Parts Center and went down like 15 yards, and found the spot where I took the pics which is right under 101. Also I might build my own spot but it will probably be at my house and I'm not sure if it would be OK with my dad to have a bunch of people over but maybe, I will definitely keep you all posted. I might be able to make it to the shop but I have an appointment at 1:00 so I cant stay for more than an hour if I get there at 11:00 but I will definitely try.

Went down there today like I said I would and this time I came prepared...I still tore up my rig but at least I made it that far it actually turns out to be harder than it looks...or my truck is just really top heavy but I definitely need some improvement on my rig. One of these days maybe a couple of us could meet up down there and discuss and see what we come up with...well here are some pics... |

Yea its mostly cosmetic damage, just need to sand the body and repaint it but I probably wont do that anytime soon since Ill just be scratching it up more and then I just need a new rollbar and light rack and a new tranny mine cant handle those rocks it grinds/slips like crazy also I need some yokes to put on the tranny right now I have a homemade setup that works, ok.

Man that place looks sweet. That's over by the SR Plaza, correct? Is that a walkway I see at the bottom of one of the photos? I'll have to stop by there with the crawler and give it a try. |

Yes it's a cool spot, scalers won't do as well as the Comp rigs but there are a couple spots for 'em as mine has proven lol

Got some time away for the shop this afternoon ... and the family was in Sac .... So, I busted out some work on the course and got things finished up for saturday. 3 new bedlined panels, bringing the total to 5. 6 cemented panels (2 left to finish before we host a comp) 3 wooden obstacles, either climbs or flats. 1 scary bridge creation. 1 carpet ramp, near vertical. More in the planning stages (I just can't stop myself!) I'll figure out a cool layout for the GTG, bringing a little of this and a little of that. but, I can't wait for a comp to bring it all. Gonna have to rent a U-Haul to get it all to the shop and back home! Jake |

Only bringing a limited amount of the course for the Fun~Run .... Enough of the course to give you guys a good feel for what the comps will be like, but not enough to get anyone dialed in on every obstacle. Right now I'm planing on bringing: 3 bedlined panels 2 cemented panels Blue Jean bridge creation (to span two tables) 1 wooden ladder 1 wooden obstacle The main idea for the Fun~Run is to get as many crawler guys together to run, so all the new guys won't feel intimidated when we have the comps. It's rain or shine, under the covered area next to the hobby shop. |
