I'm not sure where at folsom lake you guys have been have you been to the rattlesnake bar side of Folsom?

I think most of the spots are off the douglas blvd entrance. I think there are 3 or 4 areas the comp guys hit and 2 or 3 of them have scale areas in or around them. I've only been to oak point so far, the other is called dotons point. I think it's somewhat in the same area.

Anyone want to hit rocklin before saturday? I'm pretty much free except this afternoon. Bill sent these directions to me.

To get to the Waterfalls, I took HWY65 off of 80 heading towards Lincoln to the Senset Ave. exit. Turn right as you exit and travel about a half mile or so and the road kind of splits keep looking to the right and you will see a industral park. The falls are not working but the rocks are still there. I drove around the cornor and parked in the parking lot behind them and made my way over to them. It sounds confusing but when you see them you will figure it out. Its a nice little place to try, have Gordy show you Quarry Park. He and I tried it out one Sunday and in my opinon is 10x better than the Falls.

I'm not sure if oak point and dotons point are in reference to Folsom lake. It has been a couple years since I have been to Folsom maybe they changed the name or something because I had only heard of a few entrances I know there's a few on the elderado county side that I have never been to. The ones I know of are dillians beach which is the closest to Folsom city and then beals point which is Douglas blvd and rattlesnake bar which is near Newcastle. Are one of these the entrance you were talking about? Or is oak point and doton point areas actually on the lake off the Douglas entrance?

[QUOTE=Tom_Swanson; Or is oak point and doton point areas actually on the lake off the Douglas entrance?[/QUOTE]

YES, these two areas are on the lake. Douglas Blvd dead ends at the entrance to the lake. If that's where we are going saturday we can meet at douglas and folsom auburn past the am/pm and then head in.

Tom_Swanson 11-02-2010 02:07 PM

I wasn't saying we need to go to Folsom I was just trying to understand completely where you were talking about. Again who ever decided on where we are gonna go I'm game just let me know. If your not doing anything Thursday night you should come out to cap city and we could meet and maybe run some short course.

As far as thursday I was totally uninterested saturday night I put my spec slash up for sale yesterday :lmao: Most or actually all my friends have sold their SC trucks so maybe that's why  I just couldn't get into it and I think my driving showed. Worst race since I got back into racing last year  If I'm not doing anything I'll cruise by.

Tom_Swanson 11-02-2010 04:51 PM

That's funny I said something simular to my dad on Sunday I said hmmm if I had bought this scaler before I bought my slash 4x4 I probally would have never bought the slash. But I will never sell my slash as a matter of fact I should have bought stock in traxxas right after I bought it because anyone that has driven my truck has bought one or is going to buy one lol. I think 4x4 sct is in a different ballpark than 2wd just by the way they drive. If you go out there that's cool if not I'll will most likely see you on Saturday.

Tom_Swanson 11-02-2010 05:24 PM

If known wants to buy it as a package let me know I'll buy the transponder

I've seen some beat up as low as $55 $65 used/dirty with no tabs $75 like new with all tabs. RCT is where I get mine but I'm guessing the complete package is more than anyone will want to spend but the amb will be the last thing I sell :ror:

kapp916 11-03-2010 11:14 AM

so has everyone agreed on a day and place to go crawling yet?

Tom_Swanson 11-03-2010 11:38 AM

I thought Saturday was the day but I didn't think everyone came to a decision about where.

fvrr 11-03-2010 12:36 PM

Date was for saturday. BUT looks like "you" guys will have to plan on where. Gordy txted me earlier saying he's got work and I just got a call to go to TX and won't be back until this time next week  Oh well been off for 3 weeks I guess I should get back on the road. Should be available next saturday if anyone is game. Gordy doesn't get on here much Bill and Derek are out of town so you guys pick a place where you know and post up pics. Should be 4-6 guys showing up. I'm leaving in the morning and for some reason I can't post in "this" forum from my phone. Not sure if I'm going to bring my laptop as this trip I want to travel light

Tom_Swanson 11-03-2010 01:00 PM

new Folsom spot

Sorry it took so long to get the pix I had to load them from the phone to laptop. Multiple email attempts failed. This place is slightly Northeast of the Prison. It is a State park and requires the fee. Someone nearby may want to swoop in tomorrow and do a quick driveby check out to get another opinion. There is a shopping center about 2-blocks to the East in case people meet and carpool in to split the fee. TacoBell there and starbucks across the street. The park is Folsom Point-just do a search.

Bare with me if these pix don't come up, I'll try again if needed.

folsom point

O.K. guys, what happened to my pix on the previous page. It says they were moved or deleted. Moved where? Deleted by who/why? Do I try again or is it a waste of time? I was trying to show the area for a GTG.

Actually, I just remembered that once I posted them and was sure they showed up, I deleted them, thinking they would still stay here. I'll try again.

Folsom Point

Sorry guys, I've had the page minimized all night and each time I checked it never updated. If any of you are still on, I will get exact directions and be right back with you. Main thing is that on your way North, up Folsom Auburn road, you turn right (East) over the new bridge. You pass Natoma and I think the next light is the one. It only goes left, into the park.

alrighty have any street names or a place we could meet up or somethin

DIZZE004 11-06-2010 12:36 AM

The street off folsom auburn is folsom lake crossing (East) then you pass Natoma (T intersection that goes to the right-South) As you continue on Folsom Lake crossing (about 2 maybe 3 mi total from Folsom Auburn), the next light is the entrance to the park (left turn only) If you pass it, the next light is a main intersection-Blue Ravine (on the right) turns into GreenValley rd. (on the left). You'll see a Raley's Starbucks Taco Bell etc. If anyone wants to meet, that would be a safe spot to meet and leave vehicles. I can take 3 in with me and my truck with my pass. Even if someone wants to leave early, I can run them back out to their car. Give me a call 760-285-5072 Mike. My truck is a '97 white Ford F250 Crew Cab 4x4.

If most people are coming from the North then Dotons would be closer to them. Let me know. I'll check the site in the a.m.

sounds good to me .. well all try and meet up at the taco bell on the corner of blue ravine and lake crossing between the times of 9:30 10
... see yall out there later

DIZZE004 11-06-2010 12:55 AM

My computer is a POS. I cant even zoom in on google maps and see if there is a street name for the park entrance. Let me clarify my last instructions.

If you travel south on Folsom Auburn from Douglas you hit the light for Beal's point. Continue South until you get to the light where the Chevron is and turn left (East) on the new bridge that parallels the dam. Folsom lake crossing. It's about 2-3 mi to park entrance. There is a traffic light and I think you can only turn North (if not, the other way is a neighborhood)

If you are coming from the South on Folsom blvd, cross what most people call the new bridge (intersects with Riley/Greenback and if you turned right you would be on Rainbow bridge) Continue North (pass light at Oak Ave ) Continue to next light and turn right (folsom lake crossing) Pass light at Natoma and the next light is a left (North) into the park.

Sorry again guys, for the delayed response. Feel free to call in a.m.

DIZZE004 11-06-2010 01:03 AM

Briggs Ranch drive is the street into the park. Can you believe this computer only took like 30 min to show me a map? :x

Tom_Swanson 11-06-2010 09:30 AM

I have no idea where were going but I'll find I'm not complete idiot lol I'll be at taco bell at 930 945
