hmm, o.k. directions are from Lincoln, but you guys get the general idea...
Lake Valley Rd exit off of 80 (it's within the construction zone, off of the truck route.)
Make a right, (road jogs off to the left) then down to where the road splits (crystal lake road is on your left.) go to the right and down about 3/4 of a mile or so you'll see a locked construction yard off to your left.(marked with a "c" on the map) hopefully I'll be parked there about 10am, if not, there is a dirt road that starts just off to the right about 100 ft or so down the paved road. that's where the good stuff is"thumbsup"

It was crazy you could crawl for a week out there and never go in the same place.

brokennib 08-07-2011 12:32 AM

It was a great day . There is so much rock out there it's crazy. I went up the hill a bit and took a few pics, the place is just full of choice crawlspots. "thumbsup"

Yeah, and walking around on that Granite all day will thoroughly cook you. I recommend an ez-up and a gallon of sunscreen. "thumbsup"

catpwred 08-07-2011 11:23 AM

that place is awesome except for the fact that there's no shade the fire that went thourgh there like 15 20 yrs ago did a # on that place. but still a fun place to play

travis c. 08-07-2011 11:32 AM

If you keep going down that road to the campground, park, hike up the backside of the dam at Lake Valley Res. there are some killer spots near the dam and the surrounding area."thumbsup"
I stopped and crawled there after the last G6, can't wait to go back!"thumbsup"

Edit: There's trees and shade at the lake, the fire didn't go down that far.

I'd like to check out the reservoir next time, I just went up the trail about a mile or so, it's definetley 4wheeler territory, the trail gets a little overgrown/nasty as you head up the hill.
I know this place has no shade, but not a lot of these places do, I got pretty baked at Cisco Grove as well. Kinda goes with the territory.

Well, I shot a bunch of video yesterday, but now windows wont let me open the file, so I may have lost 3gigs of footage. Of course this is after I wiped everything out of my camera, so I have no Backup. Yay.:evil::evil:

I was thinking you could mount something right on the end of the bracket, right on the light mounts themselves, these come apart pretty easy, I was thinking of taking off one of the lights (the one I lost the lense for) and just running three. I dunno.

Welp, after fixing my weird little codec problem, I finally got my video back and put this together from last Saturday. It's a long one, about 20 minutes long.
