That is great news xxx123 GSRCC used to put on great events. Do you know who is in charge of the planning for GTGs and or events..Joe? I lived in Elk Grove for a few years and there are so many great spots to crawl, so many different spots at Folsom, like someone else mentioned Deer Creek in Roseville is awesome. We used to have Comps. Scale and Rock crawling under The Rainbow Bridge the space is tight but still plenty of room, and the area by the Folsom Fair Grounds is great. During the time I lived there the area was the Hot Bed for RC GTGs and Comps. and probably still is.

Anyone Interested in a Yosemite National Park GTG???

I moved to NorCal about 3 years ago and have been wanting to Trail/Crawl around Yosemite. Well with Spring here and Summer around the corner, now would be a good time to start asking around.

So start spreading the word to people you know, your RC-Clubs and local HobbyShops and see if anyone is interested. If enough people show interest, I'll actually plan something and make an official post with details... once I come up with them. Hahaha

So again... Who's Interested???

Does anyone go scaling or attend any comps in the area? Driving solo just isn't as fun as it is with others...

Up top.

Deer creek in rocklin is always a good go-to. Folsom lake, william b pond etc.

Currently we are making an indoor comp course in my buddies shop in citrus heights. Depending on how it goes we might be making it a public party spot. Right now there is just about 8 of us that have been crawling on it.

Went out to Folsom lake this past Sunday. The road was closed just after the horse staging area turn off. Spent almost three hours trying to climb every incline I could find just north of the Granite Bay boat ramp parking lot. Had my GoPro mounted on my rig. Still need to edit out the boring parts. Twelve bucks to get in, I'm going to have to get an annual pass.

I lived in Elk Grove for 3 years and loved what Folsom had to offer in the way of crawling. Do any of the local RC groups still hold events there, 2 or 3 groups were doing events there at the time you could go to something almost every weekend great place.

Awhile back I went to the BMX area in Elk Grove Park and it just so happened to be a day with no bikes. Anyway, there are some great hills for some side by side hill climb racing. There are steep, packed dirt mini mountains and loose dirt bring your horsepower and RPM's to get up. Main thing that I liked, 10 minutes from home base.

Anyone going out to Folsom lake on Sunday (3-1-2020). Road is probably still closed at the horse staging area so I was see what I could find around the boat ramp parking areas.

The rain today will make for a great time scaling or crawling tomorrow. Anyone making plans for Sunday (3-8-2020) around the Sacramento area? Need to get out, to much quality time at home will destroy a perfectly good marriage. Help save everyone's union, lets go crawling.

Cool Re: Sacramento Scaler GTG/Comps

Went to Folsom lake today. They opened the gate by the horse staging area, got all the way around to Dutton's point. Other than being the only r/c anything out there I had a friggin' blast. Tried to climb a boat load of paths that I did not think all the way through. I also made it on a few sketchy routes. One question remaining, Where in the peach fuzz were all you Sacramento area call yourself a crawler at? Well, we're waiting...........

Is Folsom Lake opened up now? I am new to crawling and just finished building up a TRX4 Defender. Hoping to connect with some other crawlers in the area for a GTG... I need some tips and tricks that aren’t on YouTube.

I remember coming across this thread a while back. I'm up north less than an hour away. I've been looking to attend the monthly Butte County meets, eventually.

I'd like to assume things became slow when FB groups became a thing? Similar thing happened to a few car forums I was actively on.
