OK, so I guess I will run with the orginaztion of this for now.

I wanted to go up for a day trip to scout out a location on a weekday next week but I cannot get out of work. So Kevin, Groupie, and me (possibly Dave to) will be going up next weeknd 4/30 to scout out the area.

I called the Shasta Lake Visitor Information, U.S. Forest Service and the nice lady is sending me a bunch of information and maps on all the camping areas. She mentioned there is a remote camping area that is very well maintained but rarely used that is very close to the entrance to the OHV park. She made it sound like the perfect area for our get together. The only problem with that campground is you need to cross the dam and in order to cross it you need to have filled out an application and be approved. I am going through that process right now so I will see if is resonable to do for all of us.

Ohh, and there is absolutely no snow on the ground at the campgrounds elevation. You need to drive 50 miles up Mt. Shasta to get to the snow.

i havent been to the OHV area for about a year, but there will only about a foot of dust. frm all the bikes and quads. and it aint any were near mt. shasta. great place for 1:1 4 wheeling though.

OK since no one has put out a date yet, I will.

I think the NEW date should be June 18-19. That way there is one weekend before the 4th of July weekend that people usually have plans for.

EDITED
I just relized that June 18-19 weekend is Fathers day weekend and that most likely does not work for alot of people.

What about June 25-26 weekend?

So like I was told by the nice lady the location she recommended was turned out to be great! I think it would be perfect for this event. The camp sites are right at the entrance to the shasta OHV park and pretty remote and have plenty of room for a large group. I am going to call for pricing and more details but here are the pics of the crawling locations which are very close (2-5 minute drive) to the camp sites.

Click here for the entire gallery of Shasta pics (including crawling)

For the ORCRC guys

The camp site is down in the lower right corner of this pic.

The camp site is again on the right, OHV park in the middle and top.

So I think the weekend is now set for June 25-26. I don't know if people are making long weekends out of it.

I will be taking that week off before the crawl so I will be there probably from Wed - Monday 6/22-6/27.

Oh yeah, Thanks to Wheels and Groupie for making a fun weekend out of the scouting trip! Much better then driving up for a one day trip. I slept better in there camper then I do my own bed!

I split the last couple of posts from this thread into a new thread in Get togethers for roll call for the Shasta Nor-Cal vs. ORCRC event.

Shasta ROLL CALL Nor-Cal vs. ORCRC, June 24-26

Please post up in that thread if you plan on going to Shasta in June.
