| Another SJ crawler addict!
Hey All! I pretty new to crawling, but have been in and out of RC for a long time. My first crawler was a dingo but I have a TF2 coming, hopefully this week. My crawling has been mostly in the backyard but it would be sweet to hook up with someone else thats into the hobby. I live near Alum Rock park but havent been there except to mountain bike. Heres a photo of my Dingo....its pretty much stock but damn fun! I'm hoping to have my TF2 ready in the next couple of weeks but it still would be sick to roll out to another spot. Im always up to meet! David |

Yo, that dingo looks sweet and so does the tf2. My uncle has that same yota so I'm planning on making mine as close to his as possible. I'm pretty new to mods for the truck but I may just deck the hell out of the tf2. Never was a fan of the slow rollers but damn! 1+ hours on the same charge beats 10 mins of flying or driving on almost any day. I'm always down to crawl on the weekends. What part of the creek do u crawl at? By toyon or closer to the park gates? I ride there a lot but never paid too much attention to anything but the trails. I know that place is a crawler honey hole! I grew up in that area and used fish the perk ponds. I've been meaning to hit it up but it can be pretty lame solo. I may actually go out there this weekend if the weather is nice. Supposed to pick up the tf2 on Friday so I may take that too even though the body won't be ready. Let me know if you or anyone else might be interested in meeting up. Oh and sorry if thread jacked! Probably should have made a new post! David |

You didn't thread jack... We usually start right at the Toyon junction and crawl our way up the creek...but there's been a lot of water lately. I only have one day open this weekend and not sure about my crawling buddy...he may chime in later. We will definitely crawl the creek again..but it might be awhile till the water comes down. If you're waterproofed, that's a plus |

Hello fellow San Jose / Alum Rock'ers! I live about 3 minutes from Kirk & the creek. My sons and I actually scouted it for crawling. We have a Exceed Mad Torque already and a SCX Wrangler + SCX Dingo out-for-delivery right now. We will have to catch up with you guys some time. - Abel |

Hey All, Depending on my schedule and if my TF2 comes in, I may be scoping out Penitencia creek this weekend. (with the dingo for a couple of hours) I think I may check out the upper section in between Rock Canyon Cir. IIRC, theres a trail leading to the creek and there were some good rocks to play with. I dont know the water level situation but from what Postclanker said, theres more than usual. If that area doesnt pan out, I may head to the lower parking lot just inside the gates and poke around. If anyone is interested in meeting up, let me know what day works better. Im pretty open both Sat/Sun. Either way, if you see a blue WRX Hatch, im crawling somewhere in the woods close by. -David |

Alright! So no TF2 yet. Maybe tomorrow. I did get a chance to swing by the creek and it was running. I don't I I'd call it high but probably by crawler standards so I will probably be playing around the lower gate area. If anyone wants to meet up on Sunday, Ill be there around 11am or so. Pm me for text! David |

Hey Greg, Ill be there! I'm not water proofed but I'm sure I can crawl around. Will be in my blue scoob. Oh and btw, do any of you have a wraith and if yes, how do you like it? I was debating on picking one up but I'm not sure. I love the scale stuff but I wanted to get something that can handle bigger rocks and what not. Crawled the rocks at the lower gate this afternoon and was happy with my dingo. Will post some pics later tonight. David |

Was going to bring the TF2 since it's waterproofed ....I have a semi waterproofed wraith...not sure if I want to dunk it. My wraith is a basher...my one and only go-fast rig, but actually crawls pretty well. Really like the rig a lot...played with it last weekend. Trying to spread the love around if you will...I'll bring the. Wraith and the TF2 See you tomorrow... |
