Thumbs up Re: San Diego RC Crawlers

One or all of you should go into the Headquarters for Mission Trails there on Mission Gorge road by Jackson and get to the bottom of why the RC cars are being singled out when there is a BMX jump area at the Quarry and the mountain bikes are allowed as well around the park. Don't take no for an answer and make an appointment with the top people if need be.

The RC cars do no damage, especially the crawlers. The mountain bike people go so fast that when they crash they get injured so bad that they have to call in a helicopter to get them out. None of this nonsense with the RC cars.

Only things I could find regarding the recent 'crack downs' at Mission trails

Recreationists React to Crack Down on Unauthorized Trails Near Santee - Opinion - Santee, CA Patch
where it mentions rangers cracking down on trail builders, which I suppose could be interpretted as RC users.

Also https://www.mtrp.org/camava/ states

"The following hobbies/games and sports are not allowed in the park. This includes, but is not limited to: football, baseball, soccer, frisbee, kite flying, metal detecting, paint ball, use of remote control vehicles, etc. "

However its only on this page, which is for the camp ground, but Id imagine it pertains to the entire Mission Trails Regional Park.

Regardless all this is really lame.

What's ups guys .... I seen the sd crawlers so I figured I would stop by haha , me and my wife used to live in SD for like 4 years , we left in 09ish after the San Diego wild fires ( rancho Bernardo ! ) I was not into crawlers then , but I sure do miss riding my old klr650 out there :-(....

One of the rangers there, who was really nice and even apologized by saying he had to enforce the rule even when he didn't agree with the policy. He also mention that once a month they have a community meeting were we could ask if an area could be clear for RC use. I'm actually going to start to look into it!

The area around the dam is really nice, plenty of rocks and lots of shade

I'm no activist, but that might be interesting to attend to see what kinds of things they cover, or get clarification on why RC is not allowed

I know it might a good idea to take a couple cars to show them. It worked for us when we fought the city of Newport Beach. Most of the time people think of RC they think nitro cars.

Nice trail. I like the early 70s Broncos, the black Land Rover and the Dingo.
