maybe a ball link could be used for the hitch...

I have a piece of metal that i bent and drilled a hole into for a ball hitch. I just gotta figure how to mount it on the scx.

I need to get some L aluminum and a rivet setup and play around with it a bit. I don't have the wheels figured out yet the exact way I want to do it, but I definitely want to incorporate bearings into it. I'm not sure how I would attach the hitch yet either, but I'm sure we'll figure it out, and there's plenty of examples out there that if nothing else we can borrow from. Anyway, I made a front bumper for my Gelande recently. It's ghetto but I like it, I just need to paint it. Last edited by trofferb; 05-07-2015 at 08:35 PM. |

Rivet setup is around $5 at Harbor Freight. Comes with the rivet gun and 4 differnet size rivets. Might be able to get the L alum from a hobby store. Maybe Home Depot but probably wont be aluminum. I like homemade stuff. Id like to see that bumper. I bet it looks sweet. |

Wow, that's cheap for a rivet setup! I'll check it out. I'm sure home depot has aluminum L metal. I have some C channel aluminum, but I probably don't have a enough after using it for a couple different mock bumpers. It's nothing special, but it works! I would post a picture of it but I can't upload yet, I'm still a noob! I don't post as much as I just read through most things. Anyway, I'm working on a different style bumper to try out also. I need to figure out how to make that canvas load/bed cover I was telling you about also. I also need to figure out some seats... which would be easier just to buy the interior parts from RC4WD, or just start brand new with a whole new body, but I want to see what I can come up with first for this current setup. I'm in no rush though, it's my leisure project. But hey, I finally drove the Gelande! I had some soldering to do, and I always take forever before I can force myself not to be lazy and just get it done. Usually by then I have a crazy amount of other things to solder also. You can always use mine if you need to before then. I even have an older 30watt radioshack one that you can have if you want.

Does anyone know of any Ultra 4 style races in San Diego? I've got my eye on Iron Mountain near Ramona to possibly set-up some father/son team races to the top. I'm not dead set on father/son or team races, but that's what comes to my mind first. My son and I are building a Yeti from the kit for him, and my Twin Hammers already went up Iron Mountain with me. It was a blast driving up that hill! If someone else already has something set up, I'd be interested in joining, otherwise maybe I'll try to arrange it myself. I don't really want to drive all the way to San Bernardino to join their races.

I finished the trailer a while Ago but I made a hitch out of a piece of metal I had. I bent it to shape and drilled two holes. One to mount it and the other for a lil ball hitch. I'll post pics when I get home. It is very effective and sturdy as well. I lifted the honcho and the trailer did not Pop off the hitch. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk |

Hi- Not new to RC and racing but just getting into scale (scx10) truck. I wanna get away from the track for a while. Live near glider port. I have test /changed/tuned in front yard with areas that qualify as easy crawling areas. Anyway, want to get out and find some ppl to do this with. PM if anyone in my area wants to do something. There is a park at the beginning of my street on La Jolla farms in gonna go try. Its a big loop of all sorts of stuff if I remember correctly. Like glider port. Anyway..thanks. BTW..I dont FB |
