Star is the start of the trail. We cross the street and theres the trail head. We usually just go straight and explore the circled area as you can mess around there quite a bit. Then end up turning left at some point and end up at the west circled area, and usually at the rate we go, we just make it a loop and head back. Can spend 30minutes....can spend 6hours there filming lol. Great all around crawl spot.

I was in the circle to the right, at the three o'clock position, that will be the place to watch out for the bees. Two days later and I still have a bump were I got stung.

Hmmmm I know a bee or two has hovered around us for a while, but luckily no victims yet. You must have some sweet blood Pmadrid lol. We usually go right up the middle of the right circle in a straight line fr*om the 5 o-clock to 1 o-clock position.

The right circle, 3 o'clock was where I thought I spotted a shadow of a tall tree on Google maps. Lol. Since you mentioned the bees near a tree. I was trying to scope it out when I saw your post in case my younger son was with me when we go. My teenage son should be fine though

Its really hard to see the tree, but its dead on at 3 o'clock. Bees have never bother me, you know the old saying "leave them alone and they will leave you alone", that was not the case. They must have a hive somewhere close, I never saw the bee, I heard it by my ear and then it stung me. I just want people to know so no one gets hurt.

We had a good day of crawlin with only a few trail fixes and only one detour.
Hey pmadrid13, I don't know what your talking about with the bees. We didn't see a single one. The only wild life we saw was this cuddly little guy.

He was a good 4 1/2 ft and about 3-4at the thickest.

This weekend was completely out of the questions for me, I'm going to try to go back during the week.

Thumbs up Re: San Diego RC Crawlers

That is a very healthy, mature rattle snake. Look at how many rings it has on its tail.

Nice rigs, Myth and Shinjari! I have a Wraith, but had gone back and forth between that and SCX10 Rubicon. Maybe someday I'll have both How do you like climbing with the SCX? So far, I'm loving the Wraith. I love the crawling aspect of the hobby. I also have a couple of Slashes between me and my sons that we love to run on and off road.
I wasn't able to make it to the West Hills spot early enough Sunday. I got caught up on home pojects I started Saturday and ran over to Sunday. My older son and I did go late, but it was around sundown. We saw some RC tire-tracks in several spots, so we know yrou guys had been there.
Like pmadrid13, I plan to go during the week at some point. Probably bring a Slash or two with my Wraith. I'd like to get as much crawling in as possible though. I like how the terrain at WH is diverse enough to use anything from buggies to short course trucks to crawlers/scalers! I mean you have great spots for running 2wd and spots better suited for 4wd too.

Not really, too busy going a different route than usual and trying to make the most of our time out there to take any action shots.

I totally brought the camera too

Next time!
