Default San Jose Crawling

I got my honcho about a month ago ive been looking for new spots to crawl around San Jose. I live by Downtown.

I have been to sheldons hobbies and Linda Vist Park. Linda Vista Park is really fun.

I just went to The mini hammers today and it is a great place to crawl. If anyone knows any other good spots to crawl that would be great. Here are some pictures of my trip today.

Don't worry somebody will chime in from San Jose real quick.
That looks like a pretty fun spot, I may have to come down to San Jose.

There are a few cool spots but nothing really great in my opinion. Mini Hammers and the Stevens Creek spot are my favorites. The rest don't hold my interest for long.

Stevens Creek spot is way more gnarly than Mini Hammers and if the ranger sees you, you will get the boot so you have to lay low if you are near the road.

Hey 123nanex...

Check out this thread:

SF south bay crawl spots

There have been a couple of threads that the San Jose crawlers frequented in the past, long dead now, but we lurk around the "Livermore" thread a lot these days. Good to see another SJ thread start up. Seems to be some new crawlers pop up in this area lately.

I like Penitencia creek and Stevens Creek trails locally....Chino Is right, not too spectacular...unless you go to Monterey or the Bean...those two spots are awesome. We're pretty good about crawling most weekends...we can post up in here for local get togethers....

Thank you for the link!

I used to have an e-maxx but switched over to scale crawling just because I have a 1:1 jeep. It's been real fun lately.

I have two 3000nimh batteries right now, idk I should buy one more ninj for when I go in long trips or start converting to lipo?

im running everything stock on my honcho as far as electronics go.
So does the stock esc and motor handle 2s lipos? Or should i just stay with my two 3000mah nimhs and get a third nimh to have 3 nimhs?

The stock electronics can handle 3s lipo's if you put a BEC on for your steering servo.

Creek Crawlin' GTG Saturday 041914 12pm @961-999 Toyon Ave, San Jose, CA 95127

Parking is along the streets, or we can park further down the road near the school if needed. This is creek crawling so tons of river rock with a few small hillclimbs tossed in, a little bit of water if we're feelin froggy. Mostly shaded and a nice 73* for the day. The more crawlers the merrier

The creek crawling is always a blast! We had one a month or so ago in my neck of the wood's (Sugarloaf in Laurelwood, San Mateo). Creek w/ a stream running through and big long hill climb crawling.

I'd like to catch up w/ you guy's for a crawl down there in SJ!!!
