Default Hemet/Dynamic scale crawlers

Not sure if this will be our club/group title name.
but it will need work for now.

I'm trying to garner renewed interest in revamping the local Hemet crawler group
with folk having interest in participating in local RC crawling events.
I currently have a physical list of some 30 plus interested participants.
And will be contacting those folk via land line to update their current status/interests.

We intend to challenge driver skills and promote friendship/sharing
with those whom are like minded.
A team/group effort is our primary goal/interest.

I'm attempting, with the help of Robert @ Dynamic Hobbies,
in locating a parcel of property we can utilize, with permission,
to set up/maintain a crawler course.
We are investigating perspective properties currently.
Once founded... it will be for club use/admission only.
Utilized by our group 2 - 3 times a month. (to be determined)
The established area will be closed to individual/personal use.
Available for use, only when a group event is scheduled.

Our interest is to create a Top(tough) Truck Challenge course.
and it will be set up as a scale trial competition that will be timed,
It will have various obstacles and a defined technical pathway.
It will require speed as well as precision driving.
And in following along the framework of "tread lightly"
altercation/damage to the race course
would net negative points that would be deducted against
an established initial points given.
Leaving the defined track perimeters or destruction
of defined markers would disqualify that particular run.

So the object would be... to go as fast as reasonable,
but with precision control.

So tho' speed is of importance..
it could also work against you.

Sooo...

does anyone have any interest in this type of friendly competition ?

This type of challenge would require that participator's
not only participate in their personal competition...
but act as fans/supporters to those whom are actually in the midst of their competition.
These timed trials would likely be run individually
and not in head to head competition.

In other words...
the goal is to race the clock and indirectly your competitor.

There will also be scale realism points awarded.
So with those garnered... and combined with the timed trial results...
then those totals would be averaged...
resulting in an over-all winner of that day/event.

I have been working with Robert @ Dynamic Hobbies
to come up with a monetary award for the prospective winners.
I know Robert is on board with that...
and is in support of my efforts in establishing these trial events.
as well others types of RC crawler participation.

If any of this is of an interest to you, you can contact us at our facebook
(http://www.facebook.com/officialdynamiccrawlers) and subscribe become
a member to stay in touch with new updates, events, and polls.

oh and if facebook is not yer thing...
please feel free to chime in here and state your interests.
We hope to entertain all aspects of RC crawling...
Including high speed crawler competition and slow mo scale rock crawling.

I'm posting this prematurely to gauge interest in my area.
We hope to establish our first organized run/event by late September/early October.
and once we have established that specific date...
notice will be posted here, on facebook and at the Dynamic Hobbies store front located in Hemet.

I will hope that this address will garner further interest.
Feel free to PM me if you have inquiry.

straight up
* Open use of drugs or alcohol will not be tolerated !
I'm not gonna say that you can't get yer buzz on prior...
But you will not be welcomed if you publicly display poor
behavior, drug and/or alcohol use.
All of our events will be adult/adolescent friendly and family orientated.
that be known...

all will be welcomed.

sorry if this ^ offends anyone.
It is not our intention.

Located a purdy cool place off Simpson Rd.
North/East of Newport Rd.
Looks like a good place to crawl...
lots of technical boulders/rocks/aggregate/dirt covering a large area
and sitting atop a large hill top.

I saw zero "no trespassing" signs/markings.
Looks like it would make for a nice g6 or similar type run.
Has easy dirt road access for cars...
that leads to a paved dead end turn about (Fressia Dr.).
Parking is some distance off/away from Simpson Rd.
and not really visual from Simpson Rd.

It's nestled behind an abandoned/failed housing tract.
and is likely bank owned... tho' I've yet to do further research on that.

Some areas farther to the north has turned into a dumping ground of sorts.
But the area I walked thru... is farther to the south, nearer Simpson Rd..
And little dumping has occurred in that area.

If ya wanted to google that area...
It's off Simpson Rd. and North on Shadey Lane
Inside the housing tract Linden Flower Rd parallels Simpson Rd.

If ya google it...
there is a dirt road entrance to the east
of the Shadey Ln entrance road (which is gated closed)
It is located on the north side of Simpson Rd.

I think this may be a location...
that we will attempt to use.

Still looking at a few other areas...
that might be more suitable for a semi-permanent closed course.
One of those... is an area utilized by local RC airplane/club use.
And hopefully they will offer to share part of their area.

so stay tuned if ya have interest.
gonna get things rolling real soon.

I had a real good time at a dynamic comp at stony mountain ranch a while back. Hopefully you can find a good local spot, taco crawler. I'd be in to doing some comps or even trail runs. I wonder if the city would allow a course and events at Simpson Park?

Interesting that you mentioned Stony...
Robert is inquiring to see if that private property can be utilized again.

As far as Simpson...
public parks are open to anyone... individually.

But most publicly owned property
will not allow organized groups without permit
and permits are not likely to be given to unaccredited organizations.

I've dealt with this issue before
with a popular forum 4X group trying to permit a 1:1 event up in Big Bear.
Accredited/acknowledged clubs were able to get those permits.
But other non recognized groups/clubs are normally declined.

It has to do with the congregation of large masses of people.
Assembly is allowed by permit...
but otherwise is considered illegal massing by most government leaders
and then removal is enforced by local LEA's

In other words...
an organized event run at a public park
would likely have the PoPo telling us to leave.

That said...
a few people could assemble and run their RC crawlers
at Simpson Park as a small group.
But could be harassed and/or told to leave
if another park user were to lodge complaint to city officials or the PoPo.

Look forward to having your participation in the near future

great ! (well maybe not the moving to Hemet part) Lol

did you sign on to our facebook link ?

if you don't do facebook...
possibly you could share with me
your personal info... name/telephone #
thru private message.

I'm maintaining a list of the local interests.
have about 30+ so far.

But haven't called everyone to verify that they still have interest.
the list was given to me by Dynamic Hobbies.
have you been to that hobby store yet ?

If you shared your information with them...
I may already have you on my list.

I was sorta waiting for the ambient temps to cool down some.
I could initiate a night time run possibly...
but I really don't know what creepy crawlers might
be patrolling the area that we might be playing in.

The rattle snakes being the most deadly,
are usually hunkard down after dark...
but that don't mean ya can't step on one.

Seen multitudes of Scorpions out there at night as well...
but generally those aren't much to worry about.
Still... better safe, then sorry

Thanks... just looked and saw you there.

Look again (new post shortly - w/ Poll)...
'cause we will attempt a first outing this coming weekend. (Sat or Sun)
But it will not be an organized event.
Done more so for the purpose of meeting each other,
playing with the crawlers some
and discussing what interests others might have.
It will most probably be at the location Tony utilized
if ya know where that was ?

Location:
Mc Sweeny Farm (Park).
think that's located on Mc Sweeny Parkway off State St. (south of Domenigoni prkwy)
We usually meet and park our vehicles at the Mc Sweeny Park
located in that community...
then walk to the area behind that.
We will start at 9:00 am once the day is decided upon.
and will be done before it gets too hot... hopefully.

BTW, so ya know...
I don't do facebook...
so my Son is in charge of that.
tho' he and I attempt to coordinate that.
But understand... it is a new thing that was dropped in our laps.

yeah Robert @ Dynamics knows his current staff is lacking some
we've talked about that.
Tony kinda left in a hurry and with little consideration/notice.

because of that...
I am somewhat scrambling to put our group interests back in order.
With the exception and support from Robert...
the current staff there has little interest/knowledge of crawlers.
And Robert would like to see that improved upon.
Sooo... I'm trying to educate his current staff as well
I'm hoping I won't have to become an employee there again. Lol

If you would share with me... as to what you were looking for
that Robert didn't have in store.
I would be glad to discuss/inform Robert regarding.

Robert is not really privy when it comes to RC car stuff.
and his current staff, tho' somewhat rc knowledgeable...
lack any real knowledge or experience with rc crawlers.

But don't fret...
I'm fairly knowledgeable.
In fact, worked as an employee for Robert
way before Tony became employed there.

I worked alongside with Jay and Dillion back in the day.
If you might know whom they were.
Jay was the airplane guru...
and I was the RC car nerd.
Dillion was Robert's "do everything guy". Lol (poor Dillion)

I'm not attempting to place myself on a pedestal.
But I've dabbled with most every aspect of
this RC hobby since the early 80's
I also worked for Hobby Town USA in Oceanside, Escondido and Encinitas.
Used to race in Del Mar when I was younger ('82-'85 ish).
But now... I prefer a more casual fun with my RC.

!!
Don't ever ask me to tune yer nitro stuff.
I had to do that too many times when employed
at Dynamics.
So I'm nitro burned out.
Lol

I've gone there a few times for basic scx10 stuff, that knowing they had a crawler club assumed they would have. That's really the only thing I've gone there for, but on a few occasions. I don't know if I could make it out this weekend, but I'll try as soon as you have a time listed. I just live a couple miles from the lake off Stetson and Yale, so it's pretty close

We will be running our crawlers
@ Mc Sweeny Farm (^ directions previous post or google it)
on Saturday 9-6-14 Start: 9:00am

this will not be an organized run/event
but rather a get together for a fun, free crawl
weighing interest and sharing of ideas with folk whom
would like to participate with our group local to Hemet.

Your input and willingness to participate
will help determine this group's direction and future.

I have a handful of folk whom have stated
they will attend/participate this day.

So please come out
and share your RC crawler interests.

Talking Mc Sweeny Google Map and Facebook Link

TacoCrawlerJr. here,

I'm providing you a visual Map to find Mc Sweeny Park.

I also am trying to gather more attention to our Facebook Page.
Which is entirely optional, but it would be easier to track updates, photos, videos, and polls.

^ thanks Son... much appreciated

Just wanted to share this

After calling everyone on my RC crawler interest list
that was registered at Dynamic Hobbies in Hemet...

I happened to contact an individual
who's father owns 10 plus acres on Sage Rd.
and has an interest of building a semi-permanent RC track
on their property.

This is great news !
And fits in with my interest of creating a closed circuit
trial type crawler track/course.

It is about halfway between Hemet and Temecula (hwy 79)
so folks from either cities will not have to drive too far
in order to attend events held there.

Gonna be great if it pans out.

And to add to the excitement...
that party also wishes to build a 2ndary high speed
track for the go fast boys

I'm not going to divulge that persons name
nor the property address currently.
Because it is private property.
But I will say this...

stay tuned

request for assistance...

To anyone planning to attend
have any interest with helping my son and I
with marking an established trail and planting these in the ground ?
I only have two small sledge hammers...
But if any volunteers could bring their own... it would speed the process.

The large nails/spikes will be used to penetrate the soil
and once removed... the flags get dropped in the holes.

Red and Blue for the gates. (Red = Pass. Blue = Driver (50 ea.)
florescent orange to mark the trail. (100 ea)
No... we do not need use all of them.
Never mind the Home Depot advertisement

If yes... I would hope you could come earlier...
say around 7:00am

just wanted to say thanks to all, for your participation.
was a nice turn out for our first gathering.
But hopefully our future gatherings...
will see cooler temps.

I'll hope everyone had a reasonably good time.

funny or ironic...
but the clouds rolled in
about 1/2 hour after we called it a day

Still damn warm out...
but less UV would have helped.

My son added some raw video footage/pictars, to facebook, of our gathering...
so... go here if ya wish to see that

Thanks to ickabob for motivating his crew in participating
with us.
Look forward to sharing more crawler fun
with both the Temecula and Hemet crawler groups
in the near future

Hoping I can locate some used tennis balls
so that I can use them for technical gates on 'da rocks.
Anyone play tennis ?! Lol
