I'll be out on the 21st. Cant WAIT to test out this new 5800mahh 3S pack. I know I need to order some better link ends, but we'll see how long I can last with these tiny stock guys.

Jay, what link ends are you using?

Re: Renegade Rock Runners of Southern California

just the stock axial ones. In talking with Jody, I need to upgrade to the larger guys. I'm told they will accept 8/32 all thread. So I was going to get the larger ends (Traxxas I think) and then pick up some allthread and aluminum pipe that has an inner diameter of just larger then the allthread, and make my own lower links.

I destroyed 1 of the stock link ends just after you left Marina Del Rey. Jody happen to have an extra one, so we changed it out, and I was back out on the trail. This CrawlMaster Pro motor is WICKED strong.

You might bring them out to VR on the 21st if you come out. I might need them if I haven't changed over to the larger ones by then.
Do you think you'll have time in the near future (Maybe today?) to upload the Marina Del Rey video you captured?

I'll have some spares with me in the 21st.

I'll try to get to that video now.

James.

Is vr still a go for this saturday ?

Re: Renegade Rock Runners of Southern California

Yeah it is!! Looks like there are 7-8 other people signed up on the FB page for this event as well. There is talk of 1-2 line 4-10 gate comp with $5-$10 entry. But that's still up in the air.

Either way, I know I'll be out there with a few others for sure.

You thinking of making it out? We normally roll out about 10 AM, but start showing up around 9-9:30. We break for lunch around 12-1, then most of us head out for round 2 of crawling (or in our case the comp for some, and more trails for the others.)

Yeah man! I remember you! Glad your going to make it out this time! I'm trying to put together as many VR trips as I can before the temps get to high for the summer. The next couple of months are PERFECT months to be out at VR!

Hey Shad, I remember you, I think I got a few shots of your Dingo. I had the super stock G6 wheelie machine :)

I'll be there and my son Seb, aka Mountain Goat, is also keen to try some gates. Should be fun.

Re: Renegade Rock Runners of Southern California

I hope my new links and shock keys show up before Saturday! But even if they don't, I 'll still have a great time.

Here is what I have been thinking about for a mini comp.

2 lines, 2 classes. 1.9 and 2.2
looking at 4-10 gates total per line.
Extra points for scale items (bumpers, winches, pull-pal's, snatch blocks, tow ropes, bungees, etc) up to 10 points max. 1 point per item.
No trailers.
$5 per class to enter. (Please have exact bills!)
2 judges ( 1 for each line, more if people want to help out)
Shortest time with the most points, wins.
Point deductions for hitting gates, roll overs, H.O.G.'s or winching.
Payouts for first place in both classes. (if we get enough people entered, we might do payouts for 1st and 2nd place.)
You can enter the same rig with different size wheels into both classes. Or run 2 different vehicles. One entry per class.
If you plan to run the same rig in both classes, please let the official know during registration.

Point deductions are as follows
-4 Roll over (turtle)
-3 H.O.G.
-2 Hit Gate Marker
-1 Winching

What do you guys think? Sound viable? Or should we just scrap the idea?
I don't mind printing out score cards, and things of that nature. I'll even bring clip boards and pens!
