Thanks, what are the camping amenities (if any), price, is it just put up a tent where ever or? Could you post the specifics here for those of us who don't facebook? Here's all I get when looking at facebook page for Butte County Scalers, "Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM in PST about 4 months ago" and a picture of several guys with crawlers. |

From what I can gather, it's not really a campground but it's ok. There's a public restroom but that's about it. So be prepared to ruff it. Lol. Price? No clue. I figure it's free. Fwiw, I'm not really a fan of Facebook either but it seems to work out alright for hobby groups. Here's what Rasta Man wrote on the Facebook page: "Scalefest"@BaldRock Event for Butte County RC Scalers event by Rastaman. April 9 - April 10 Apr 9 at 4:20 PM to Apr 10 at 4:20 PM Bald Rock 2856 Bald Rock Rd, Berry Creek, California 95916 Oh boy here it is the big spring event for the #buttecountyscalers. This is our first ever two day event..! Saturday April 9th and Sunday April 10th.. We will be starting to gather Saturday around 4pm at BALDROCK in berry creek,California.. -5:30-7:30 bbq and show and shine with our night stage and fun run starting after.. There will be a 10 gate timed course with a 2$ buy in when we get out on the rock..Two classes 1.9 and 2.2 fastest time through the 10 gates wins the kitty for each class..! We will also run until we feel done. Then back to camp for campfire, beer and bullshi@@ing or vehicle repair.. Sunday morning will be our regular Sunday comp with sign ups starting at 10am with a show and shine and raffle starting at 10:45am and then start hitting the trail at 11am. There will definitely be 300gates and it will take time to get through the them all.. So get those rigs ready for some hard and easy wheeling.. Winches and tow straps are highly recommended..! Please tell your scaling buddies if they were to make it to just one event this year, this is the one to make it to..! If you can't make it Saturday definitely make it out Sunday for our monthly comp.. And remember the raffle Will be our best yet..! Last edited by oldpunk; 03-29-2016 at 03:07 PM. |

Only one more week till the "Scalefest" raffle prizes are rolling in, weather looks like it will be good.. And yes parking area is small, truck camping and tent camping is the best up there.. If you have a rv or travel trailer space is very limited.. So come early if you have something large to park.. |

So pissed I missed this, my landlord wanted to do an annual walk-through yesterday so as some of you know, I had a lot of work to do. This cool weather the last few days hasn't been easy on my back either. Anyways, anyone have more pics of the outing?

Had a great time, thanks Rastaman, Butte County Scalers, all the raffle donators, and everybody who came out for a fun crawl time together! Butte County and Northern California is Ascender country, everytime I go up there for for a gtg or comp, there are peeps crawling with Ascenders everywhere....love it! Great raffle too, I won a sweet recovery rope with steel hook and a set of SBC scale items (milk crate, gas can, first aid kit, and Optima battery) I was too busy admiring my winnings and didn't get in the group pic with all the raffle winners. |
