Eh... I'm pretty sure the comps north of the Sacramento area are a lot more geared towards just going out and having fun. You've got to hit up a larger market area for more serious comps. There just aren't enough guys that show up with serious competition rigs.

I agree with you Travis self judging just doesn't work for me either. Doing G-6s and fun runs has made me a sloppy driver, I don't think about my approach angle or line. Don't get me wrong, they are fun but sometimes too much of a good thing is not the best. Butte County put on a nice judged Scale Comp. Sunday after AxialFest, 10 Gates- 6 minutes on the clock. I had a blast at it, probably the first time in a year that I have been judged on course. After AxialFest #1 I sold all of my Rock Comp. stuff and have just been into the scale side of the hobby, but have been thinking of building another BERG as there is a local club that puts on Comps. once a month. Thanks Butte County for putting these events on, I know how much work it takes to put on an event.

Good times guys, Saturday night comp was a blast and went into the darkness of the night.. Then we all went out for some night riding out on the rock.
Sunday started early with coffee and gate setup after returning to camp from setting gates, there were like 50 people standing around ready to sign up and play toy cars..! Then out of nowhere the forest ranger showed up and couldn't believe what was going on, I sweet talked to him and he turned his head and said I didn't see anything just make sure you clean up and then basically left.. Thank you for letting us finish our comp, next time we will have the correct permit in place..!

Show and shine was awesome with Kerry Lemos from yuba city taking the win with his awesome rc4wd blazer.
Now the raffle was like nothing any of you had seen..! We gave away a ton of stuff from eandhhobbies in yuba city, asiatees.com, scale by Chris, and our latest sponsor Amainhobbies.. Thanks again sponsors for supporting this great group of people..!
After the raffle everyone lined up to start running gates. The first person back did all 269 gates in just over a hour.. Last person through was just over 3 hours.. Again thank you all for coming out and supporting the butte county scalers..!

Bald rock is always a hoot. I wish I had gotten a chance to run the whole course. We even had a r/c celebrity show up and run with us. Thanks to Harley for coming out!
