vasquez rocks park meet up
 

Anyone interested in meeting a couple times a month? Would like to do informal trail runs. Vasquez is probably best rock crawling spot in northern LA county. Weather is really nice now. I live in Santa Clarita. Thanks, Dennis B.

Testing out the new SSD 2-speed transmission and MIP driveshaft upgrade I got from rpphobby before the rain comes at Vasquez Rocks. It was about 55F at 3pm there today.

Sorry I didn’t reply in a timely manner. I don’t get on this site very much. I am up for a Vasquez meetup. I was just there on Sunday with a couple neighbors and we had a good time. The weather has been very nice. PM me when you art thinking about going. With my neighbors and my son we could have a nice group.

Took the wraith to Central Park to trail/crawl and somehow the rear drive shaft detached from the u-joint at the transmission. I figured I lost the cross pin when I picked up the truck. Mysteriously the pin was still in the draft shaft side and the retaining screw for the MIP setup was still on the transmission side. The retaining screw was loose, but I have no idea how the pin slipped out to disconnect the shaft and then slid back in again. It beats having to replace that pin and I ended up adding more thread lock. Not sure if thread lock gets old or I need stronger stuff since it was thread locked when I assembled it last month.
