I am not going. I dont have any lights. but instead we are going to take the Jeep out and actually use it. We were thinking of two trails. We were looking at either Blackwood Canyon or Bear Valley Loop. Have any of you been on either of these? We are using this book to pick a trail.

Anybody else got a trail suggestion that has seen our Jeep?

and does anyone have any ideas to use for gluing my hexes into my rims? the only ca glue i have is tire glue. I have jb weld and epoxy too. I tried the epoxy once and it didnt hold for a long time. I dont think jb weld would stay in the wheel because it is meant for metal.

I've been on both. Blackwood canyon its not that hard. I did it in my Tacoma dub cab. There are a couple of nice views but a lot of itIts not a very long trail only 2.5 miles. I think I did it in about 2 hrs one way you can take a paved road back down if you like. Here is a map. http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/ltbmu/docume...ps/mapws.shtml

Bear valley is not that difficult either you should have no trouble with your jeep. It is a bit longer and there are a couple of challenging parts if you want to take them. But it is closed as far as I know due to fire restrictions.

Here is some more info on the trail for future use.

Thanks for the help. Yeah i was worried about fire restrictions. Is there any current lists of places that are closed? And we dont want it to be too difficult because we dont have any lockers and some weak axles. We just want something to get out and really go off road. We dont want to spend the full day wheeling because we are bringing our fishing poles and hope to find a river or lake that we can fish in. So Blackwood Canyon seems good as long as it is open. I just want to get a pic of our jeep doing something a little more "extreme" than going through our backyard to say to my neighbor with a fj cruiser.

Blackwood is not closed. The only closures I know of are in the Tahoe National Forest. Your jeep would be fine on this trail.

Tape? I guess I need to transfer it to dvd and then I am sure I can get it from there.

I said dvd because I wouldn't need anything other than my PC to do anything with the video. With a tape, I would need the camera too. My camera isn't working at the moment, so I cannot do anything with tapes... Its pretty easy to do basic video editing and if you are on XP, you should have Windows Movie Maker built in. Not the best program, but easy.

Hellbent are you sure that Blackwood canyon isnt closed? It is right next to Tahoe and i am guessing that it is in the Tahoe National Forest. And are there any other trails anyone would suggest? We might stay up there for a night and camp so that means more than 1 trail.

Ok i think that Blackwood is right next to the Rubicon. I dont know if that is the same entrance to get to the slabs though.

New to the rc crawler world. How can I find out about these get togethers for next time. Would like to get some real testing done on my first rig and see what others are doing.

About the LEDs. Theres a guy on ebay that sells LED kits for rcs. Heres a link to his ebay store. I got a set for my rustler to run at night and they work great. They run off a 9v battery.

Rubicon is going to be nuts this weekend.

check this thread. I was going to go up there and work, but BPRCA is in my blood. I might buy some raffle tickets for the goodies.
