Blackwood Canyon is part of the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit which is not part of Tahoe National Forest.

You could do a loop from Blackwood Canyon over to the Rubicon and up to Ellis Peak According to this map I found.

According to the map the trail is only moderate which your jeep should not have any problems.

Anybody else got a trail suggestion that has seen our Jeep?.
BLue Lakes and the Canyon Rim Trail (or some similiar named) trail are both do-able with a stock to medium 4x4 and very scenic. Bring the rain gear this time of year for morning and afternoon thunder showers. These are both south of here....east of Sonora.

We are just going to go up twords Lake Tahoe. We might stay at Graeagle. I was thinking of something today that i need some help on. Ok when you disconnect the swaybar, where do you attach it to? Or does it just flop around? Yes, we havent needed to disconnect them yet. Or do you just tie them onto something? Im bringing my crawler and will take lots of pics.

depends on which disconnects your running, but if you don't have a place to attach them for stow, just zip tie it up out of the way.

have fun, take some pics, and wish you guys were coming to Moonrocks.

Ok we got back last night. Blackwood was closed halfway through due to fire restrictions. But it wasnt even in the Tahoe National Forest. So we went back and went twords the end of the Rubicon just by the end of Blackwood. We went in the Rubicon backwards about 45 minutes and then back out for another 45 minutes. It wasnt that extreme just moderate but that part wasnt the real rubicon most people would think of. and i didnt take a whole lot of pics because i was having to much fun riding in the Jeep. I got out and got a video of my dad going up the hardest part of Blackwood we saw.

Then we came back and went to our friends cabin and i got to ride a quad. it was exciting for me because the fastest i have only gone on one before was like 10 mph. so now i told my dad it was a mistake bringing me there because now we need a quad, a cabin, and some lockers.

And look at the crazy positions we got it into on the Rubicon.
