Hi, this is my first post.

I'm in Whitby, not seen any mention of anyone else in this area yet.

Anyway, i'm probably going to pick up a Wraith on Saturday. Big Boys with Cool Toys have a sale on so I may go down and check it out and see if I can get a good deal.

I don't plan on doing any mods on it for a while other than slowing it down (Gearing? Motor?). I have a ~3yr old that will be playing with it as well as me

So anyone else local?

Tom...
right, 29 posts to go till I can see if there are any local second hand Wraiths for sale on here lol.

I'm in Markham/Stouffville area. I would love to get a group going out this way... I am trying to research good spots locally that we can hit. Stouffville resevoir has some nice trails, log bridges and all that. I am back from the arctic on the 16th.. so maybe a mid november crawl if I can find a good spot and if the weather is not sub zero :(

So Arcticfire isn't just a fancy name? You up there for work? Can you crawl the Arctic? We should make up a map and eveyone can put a pin where they have crawled!
Tom, buy a star and you support this excellent site and can check the classifieds without waiting.
Maybe we'll head to Markham this time, we'll see what the Group Mind says.

OK, I just got a Wraith lol. Not a bad price, $279 new!

Anyway, it's an xmas pressie for me so I can't play with it till then lol. I refrained from buying batteries just now so I am not tempted to get it out

$279 for an RTR? Great price! And get some batteries and let it rip. Thats the best thing about a present from yourself, you don't have to wait to open it!

Yep, it's the RTR. I was on my way to Big Boys to see what their sale price was going to be but checked out Johns on my way (As I have not been there yet, just wanted to check it out). Lo and behold! They pretty much said I got lucky with the price.

And it's 80% for me and 20% my 3yr old, so I need to wait till xmas...

I will get batteries, a 55t motor if I can find one cheap online and a new pinion & spur. Want to slow this thing right down for the boy

You guys should really try out GTA Hobbies in Mississauga. Definitely worth the drive there. They are fully stocked with trucks & parts. Course is AMAZING. I'm there almost every weekend.

SO it does still exist!!! I have ben looking for info on this place for a while, that have like zero web presence. I will be heading down there on the weekend of the 19th then, for sure. Are they open during the week at all? how much does it cost to play for the day?

I assumed it is Big Boys. gtahobbies.com redirects there anyway. Is that right then or are they different?

GTA Hobbies is definitely NOT Big Boys (in fact, more like cross-town rivals!) Don't know how Big Boys managed to get a redirect on their web URL (I'm sure that adds to the tension, LOL!). Big Boys has since dismantled their course and focused more on other items to sell.

Anyways, Andrew (owner) has a fantastic place there with great part selection and the most amazing, thought-out course around. Extremely technical and challenging for even the best drive and extreme machines. I believe his fee is $20/day to crawl. They're open 6 days a week (can't remember which weekday he's closed - I think Monday).

Located at:

5200 Dixie Rd, UNIT #4 (2 lights south of 401 - west side)
Mississauga, ON

They should get a website

And about the track at Big Boys, I am confused now as they just had their sale show and said on the website that you can pay a toonie(goes to Sick Kids) to use the track. I guess they took it down since advertising that fact...

Hey Arctic I looked into GTA and as of this past spring their hours were 10-7 Tues to Fri, 10-6 Sat, 10-5 Sun. I've never made it there yet. Give them a call to confim the hours are the same, just in case. I'll see you there after the snow flies, I'm still out crawling. It looks like some of us are getting together on the 20th, not sure where.
