Real C cups, $13.50 shipped, set of 4 That's right......real crawler spring cups , the way they should be made for crawlers. You will not need to worry about losing your spring cups again. My spring cups do not have the quick-removal slot so they do not flop off the shock shaft into the abyss of the rock pile never to be seen again. I created a few small details in these cups besides the lack of slots. The counter-bore for the shock's rod end measures 1/4" diameter to be able to use multiple different types of rod ends. These are not designed to be a press fit over the rod end, they are designed to pull off the rod end with ease and self locate as the shock compresses again. The through hole on the cups are .125" diameter and about .075" long so they will not limit most shock's compression. The spring is retained to the cup using a small groove cut into it's diameter. The cup also has a tiny thread cut into it so the spring's helix flows naturally off the cup rather than swelling the spring's diameter. I could not take a good picture of this detail, too small. IMPORTANT; I designed these cups to work with Losi crawler shock springs, yellow springs or lighter rates. I tried a Traxxas big bore red spring and it works but the wire gauge is large and the spring does not seat into the groove enough for me to like it. To install these just remove your shock, remove the rod end from the shock, snap the spring over the C cups and reinstall. Thread the rod end back on the shock shaft and reinstall the shock. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...cts/Ccups1.jpg These are CNC made in black Delrin. This is a limited run of cups, I made about 42 sets of four. These are priced at $12.00 plus $1.50 for shipping for a total of $13.50 shipped USPS to your door. International orders add $6 more. Editted Feb 9, 2013 http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...cts/Ccups2.jpg PM me for details or: $13.50 2 sets will be $25.50 PM for info I ship on Tuesdays and Fridays. Addendum for XR-10 shocks; The C-cups work fine for XR-10 shocks after a slight modification. The thru hole needs to be reamed to accept the larger 3.5mm shock shaft. 3.5mm = .1378 Drill to use; #28 drill = .1405" 9/64 drill = .1406" The length of the land to be reamed is .080" long so there is no need for special tools. Any drill chucking motor will have it done in seconds, even by hand is easy. If you don't want to buy a drill, a body reamer will work very fast. |
Great idea!! I had seen these before when I raced 1/8 scale but could never find them again. I shall be getting some of them as soon as I get rich. -poo boy.. |
VERY nice indeed."thumbsup" I may wanna try a set out when I rebuild my Berg next month. |
Very nice! Now folks with tons of steering wont have to glue the cups to the rod end! |

Everything is the same, coil diameter, shock shaft diameter but that Traxxas red spring uses a wire diameter that is too big for the groove in the cup. It does hold it but not as good as I like. Plus those Traxxas springs are too high of a spring rate. Are you using the Traxxas springs? I always used Losi springs on the big bores, nice and soft. I'm returning PMs right now. |
Rather than PM all you guys back who have Paypal'd me. Got the payments and I'll be shipping tomorrow. I'll try to ease up the PMs a little here too. $13.50 to Paypal addy; JeepinDoug@gmail.com Please specify C cups in the note. Thanks |
these look awesome.. I reckon there would be a great demand for these for the 1.9 guys too.. to fit the Proline or Axial 1.9 Scale shocks |
Man I can't wait to get my C cups. DD cups would be better, but I can deal with C's. |
Sweet idea. Just ordered a couple sets. |
Those of you who ordered two sets were refunded $1.50. The cups are $12.00 a set and shipping is $1.50. Two sets doesn't change the weight of the shipment enough to need more shipping cost. |
I've been looking all over for these! Thanks!!!"thumbsup" |
