Are the screws just glued in, then just cut off the extra thread on the other side or do they go into the rim? I might be able to get some if they are not suppose to go into the rim since my rim lips are not flat and are small-HPI spoked rims.

The screws are 3mm x .050, they are short, but with an hpi spike rim, you may need to trim them a hair to make the bead fit perfect. I just screwed mine in, then used a dremel to trim the extra off, no glue needed.
