Not that this would be a problem for a lot of us here, but what about body mounting options? I know that the stock shock tower/hoops are flexy, but the built-in adjustable height body post mounts are really convenient.

With the electronics box revision, this would then be a truly bolt-on affair.

I do have a project in which I can use some custom rails, so I will PM you the details once I have my parts orders finalized.

the stock body mounts bolt right up. i will do a full build thread showing how.
basically you just take the stock plastic shock towers, and cut off the arms. leaving just the upper holes and body mounts. then when you bolt up your shocks go threw the steel and plastic too behind it. and walla. magic. factory body mounts

I was just wondering about this exact same thing. Will the stock chassis holes match up the same with the mod and new chassis? Reason I'm wondering is I have already drilled the holes in the stock configuration on a new body.

By the way, this looks killer and the new skid is sweet!

They are off by the width of the chassis rail. You can easily grind this width off of the plastic shock tower/body mount.

as soon as I get some time ill assemble one of each and get you a measurement.

thanks!

that's a great idea corky, by narrowing the plastic you could adjust the location. and also by flipping sides of the chassis rails. great thinking.

Can I use my Hand Brothers CMS and 3 link with this chassis?

also here is a great pic from Shane showing the SCXHR chassis at its finest. low ride height, and full compression. take a look at that axle and panhard clearance
also shows CMS.

this has been done. the last few chassis that shiped are this new "Version 1.5" and all from now on will ship this way.
should be a very easy place to add an electronics tray. the hole for the stock electronics tray was already there. it can be seen on the bottom/middle of the front arch as it leaves the skid/link area.
Wow, great idea and follow through, chassis looks great!!! It's about time somebody did this!

I received mine and I love it! Great job Cory. Just wondering, should I paint the rails to protect them from rust? Sorry for the dumb question.

I would clean them up real good, paint them and then bake in the toaster over to harden it...really helps the durability and drying time!

I ordered your chassis/skid combo and put it together and now the chassis is too wide to bolt back up. Is everyone narrowing the skid ?

I didn't narrow the skid, just put it all together. Works great. The stock frame rails bow out about 3/8" on each side toward the center and the TTS rails are flat which is why you are seeing what you are seeing but it still will go together.

correct. the rails will bolt right up and bend in like the stock rails

ie just like stock the skid is wider than the braces.
