The UA is designed for all-around U4/trail/crawling performance more so then a specific set of scale comp rules.

Would a similar shape without the cutouts in the side rail be legal? Do you think that there will be any material restrictions in the future also? I have steel and aluminum chassis available now along with the carbon one to hopefully cover all the bases.
I probably should have just PM'd you about this, sorry for mucking up your thread. There may be some changes in the rules as far as chassis appearance goes. We are trying to get away from the TVP look plates so at a glance there isn't a question about legality. Also, carbon fiber may need to be painted black to be legal for SORRCA events. These are mostly appearance items. Is the cutout/brace on the sides a structural part of the chassis or more for appearance? We are hoping to find a happy medium so vendors can still produce aftermarket chassis that are cool and unique but still fit the "spirit of scale". I watched you playing around with this chassis at Scale Nats in Arizona, and it definitely works!

No problem Tim, I've been getting questions from customers who want to run in SORRCA, so I don't mind the discussion being here.

The chassis would be strong enough for scale/trail comps without the upper brace at all. I added it in for extra strengh for racing U4 and high speed G6 runs.

I must chime in on this issue as I have seen it on other venues. As an owner of one of these chassis and other "questionable" chassis I can definitely see that the scale world and the comp world are getting very close. As builders/compete we all try and push the limits on something hat can give us an advantage or put us on the podium.
While I agree a line needs to be drawn there must be a place for the innovation and imagination of guys like Jake and Ben and others. I think this newer scale chassis scene might even help the 2.2m and 2.2s workd in the immediate future. It's a much simpler transition to go from a full blown comp rig to a "super scaler" of you will.
I've seen more new guys enter the hobby here lately with interest in new chassis and newer crawler technology and isn't that what we want ? All and all there is room for both scale and whatever you want to call this new craze of awesomeness.

On that note....here is my UA! With the body on it, you can't see the chassis or the CF for that matter.

Very nice. We need to add some proper body off shots for this thread though

Do you think this is scale looking in the least?

Sounds like you have it covered, good for you.

Awesome! But you guys understand we have to draw the line somewhere right?

That beautiful chassis isn't one of mine, but I can ship our Undercover Agent for an extra $10-15 to AUS with no problems.

Sorry to bump an old thread! I'm kinda new to this and I just got this chassis, are there any tips on how to get everything installed and setup?

What are you doing with the shocks? Mounting them inside the chassis rails?
