| Official RCC Rental XJ Jeep...........
A few guys in my 4WD club all deceided last year that we each wanted to build " winter wheelers " for less than a $1000 each. The goal was to have a capable rig in the snow, but not too capable that it was boring. Something we can bounce off trees and rocks, roll over and not care at all. This XJ used to belong to my friend, but he has since got a newer, nicer XJ to beat up, so I bought this one. I helped build it, I have wheeled it and so it was destined to be the new MSD shop rig, of sorts. specs are: 89' chero-car, 120k 4.0l , auto, 231 t-case " lincoln " locked rear end, open front, locking a d30 with how often I press the dumb pedal was a bad idea, so it is open. 33" swampers on cheap black steelies 3" rusty's lift, low CG, big tires and lot's of " sawzall " spare control arms in back blue hatch from a 90' xj dog and mud stained interior it has radio, heat and 4 black feet, what else is there? Truck wheels great, paint is shot and there is not a straight panel on it, including the rockers and sub frames. grand total in this build, including the truck $946.13 This is the rig I am going to give Jason, Badger and 1BJB as a " loaner" when they come out for the scale comp in may. No ins waver required. " take it off any sweet jumps? " Hell yeah, she is air approved and has the bent axle and sub frame to prove it. Anyone who attends one of MY comps in Helena Montana, is welcome to take her out for a drive. pics: |

Hope you enjoyed it. It'll cost more than you've got into it to repair it once Jason's done with it. |

Looks like a fun "no care" rig and the price was certainly right! Jay |

That is exactly the type of rig I'm looking to get this summer. I'd love to have a beater rig that I don't care if it gets banged up on the trails. Gonna have to show the wife this one to encourage her to get on board with this idea. Heh, the more I think about it, that costs less than most of my rcs. |
