Durable foam for indoor coarse

Read this discription on the 16LB foam
"Common Applications: This 16LB density foam is essentially as hard as a rock, you would need a hammer in order to make any dents in this product. Can be used for sculpting or the casting of objects that require superior toughness and strength."

Sounds like you wouldn't have to coat it with anything else.

Would be kind of expensive!

It be the same as everyone else rhino lining it. That stuff is hella pricey.
Don't know haven't done the math.

Would definitely require a frame work, otherwise a single obstacle could cost you $500+

Wrecker 01-13-2008 09:55 PM

Sounds pretty cool, would be freakin heavy though.

I've used the spray faom with decent results. The price isn't bad 8 cubic feet for $50 that more then enough foam for a course if you use fillers Old milk jugs ect.

40 cubic feet would cover a 4x8 sheet of plywood, with a thickness of 15 inches. Still expensive, but its not terrible. The $60 kit could be turned into a 3'x3' test section at 10.5 inches thick, if someone wanted to give this stuff a try.

Ohh I was looking at the light weight stuff.... I see they have heavier foams at the bottom and its not cheap.... $231 gets you 5 cubic feet, I would rather haul rocks around.

I think everyone has tried the spray can foam and that getts chunks taken out.
I might try this stuff it sounds promissing for the basement.
