Question When is an Axial AX-10 Scorpion NOT an AX-10?

If you replace every part of an AX-10, accept the axles… Is it still an AX-10?
Should the rig be posted in the AX-10 Forum?
If “yes”, then if you put TLT axles on a Scorpion should it be posted in the TLT or AX-10 Forums? Both?

At what point does a Scorpion cease to be a Scorpion?

Everyone still refers to their TLT rig when it just has TLT axles under it.

I think that the whole concept is what your rig starts out as. TLT,AX-10,CLODBUSTER,WILLY KING. TWIN FORCE and so on. In every form of rc guys mod there kits. this is not something new.

i would think that it goes by whatever the axles are, that is what the rig is.

The only part on my WK that is from the WK is the axles. Even at that, they aren't 100% original anyways (rc guy diff lockers). So its really just 2 plastic casings, knuckles (on the rear) and some shafts and bearings.. oh and some screws lol.

Seems kinda piddly to base your crawler off 4 or 5 parts ... ROFL!

I think if you based a crawler brand off the amount of parts purchased,... mine would be from Traxxas.

To quote William Shakespeare...."A Turd by any other name would still smell like shit."

As far as I'm concerned, It's the axles.
If I were to see a 2.2 with axial axles and a SW3 or whatever after market chassis posted in the TLT section, I'd move it to the AX10 section, and same goes with TLT axles and a AX10, or whatever chassis, would go into the TLT section.

even if that is the case(no pun intended) i would still say it makes a difference. different cases have different mounting locations for 4 link bars and shocks and what not. and the aftermarket parts that go in/on these cases are made for that specific truck.

My TLT comp rig only has heavily modded stock axle cases, and 1 plastic rod end left from the kit. I havent even got any of the original screws on the truck. IMO it is still classed as a TLT;)

Yeah true enough at that.

But all in all, whether it be TLT or WK or AX10 etc ... they are all just plastic cases anyways ... lol

AX-10 is pretty much referring to the axles as they are the "base" of our builds. there isn't more than 4-5 threads that have a stock TLT in them in the TLT forum.

Thanx guys...
A friend is building a Crawler from ordered parts (no kit involved), and we were just wondering what to call it.

Which one are the axles from?

If you use aftermarket axles like the RC4WD T-Rex or rcchannels axles, and a stock Scorpion chassis and tranny, then what? General Crawlers?
