Default Paypal ask for phone number ?

Sorry if this is asked before.

When logging on to paypal today I first got a screen where I had to give my phone number and phone number of my work for security reasons ?

I can't remember that I gave pp my phone number when I created the pp account and I never had this question before ...
Does anybody know what's happening here ?

i guy i work with click on one of the links off of a fake paypal email and they askied him to "update" his bank info along with atm pins (idiot).. dumbass did it and with in 30 min or so, $200 was withdrawn from an ATM machine in NYC with his pin.. and since they had his PIN #, they would not revert the charges.

I never click links in e-mails Twisted, even "funny" things from friends etc.

Real pp page ? I'm not sure now. I did get an email from pp to tell me that my money was added to my account and some warning too: instead of using a cookie, type the URL in the adress bar they say. Will do that now ...

Thanks for the fast reply guy's.

[edit] thanks for that info Twisted, I'm not that stupid. Fawking hackers/thief's :(

Paypal e-mails will always refer to you by name. Even then, I go to the PayPal website myself to check rather than clicking on anything in the E-mail.
