Default 2 new shop toys!

Here are some pics of the new toys I bought today. Synchrowave TIG, and a PacMaster 100 Plasma cutter. I've already sold the 3-phase MIG that came with them and made most of my money back on the deal. (when it's all said and done, I'll have $350 + bottle in the TIG, and a buddy will have $350 in the plasma cutter, can't beat that!) The TIG was pretty dirty, but I took all the covers off it, blew it out, and cleaned it up really well, a 90% improvement from what it did look like (VERY dirty).
We tested out the plasma cutter tonight, it will cut 1" thick steel like BUTTER. It will cut 2" as well, but not great (see picture). I figure it would cut 1.5" w/o much problem. Can't wait to test out the TIG machine, and at this price, it won't take long and these will pay for themselves.

I see an aluminum tuber in my future! (after I finish my 1:1 Honda-buggy)

we have the same plasma cutter at work. never had any problems with it, but it rarely gets used, we're all pretty proficient with a torch.
