Stormer Hobbies is a great place to get crawler parts from, good people who actually know what they are selling and have used it before.

I have been buying from them for along time, just got my DX3R from them the other day.

Did you guys know that the only other mail order/ web-hobby store that has been around longer is tower. Stormer has been doing this for almost 3 decades, they have seen it all.

If you need crawler parts support our vendors, which happens to include Stormer hobbies.

since stormer were the people to give us TLT's for $80, any chance of them doing something similar with AX-10's?

Thanks for the note and the kind words from everybody.

I personally have been lurking here for about a year. Lately our crew has been piddling with crawling, and here we are.

I have quite a personal interest in crawling and offroading on a full size scale as well. In fact, that's my daily driver truck in my avatar. It rides on 40" pro-comp tires and 20" moto-metal wheels. I have a 1951 chevy panel wagon and pair of Rockwell axles in the shop, ready for another full size build, and I picked up a hail damaged Jeep Cherokee that we're gonna "tube" and make a grocery getter out of it. (it's good to be in Montana) ...lol...

A lot of why were are here, is that I am fabricator. I love to build stuff, RC, full size, gadgets, robots, makes no difference, it's all fun. You get to do more of that and express yourself more with crawling. More personalization and creativity. I like that.

So we stepped up to the plate and are here to help support you guys any way we can.

Feel free to drop us a note, anytime.

Regards,
-Bob Stormer

Man, don't we wish. AX-10 is a fun little truck, picked up one myself. Well, 3 of them now, I'm putting together another one, a more custom one. and my son just hacked one together. Couple other folks that work here put a few together as well. One of the few RC vehicles you can hand to your drunken Uncle Billy and he can't ruin it for you...

I should have somebody put that in one of our ad's. "Crash tested by your drunken uncle Billy".

I have Know Bob since the mid 1980's when we both raced 1/12th scale electric cars. He is a really great person who competes with passion, great skills and impeccable sportsmanship. He has always been a innovative creative builder of anything RC. Good to see you here Bob as a vendor.

My only issue is their website, just not up to par with even small Crawling only vendors. I even shop online impulsively and their search feature is just not letting me buy things I normally would from their competitors due to search results pulling up things I might try.

I haven't bought from Tower since May '06. There is no need to when I can get everything I need from RCC's vendors or my LHS.

Being as large as they are and having millions in inventory I would personally never want to manage a web store that large.

Tower's search engine doesn't even work that well.

Stormer still carries Losi, unlike Tower, so for a while there it was a good place to get the Losi springs. I've been using them since the 80's, great job Stormer.

Thanks for writing.

Our search, and the search on any site, is a compromise. And we stock a LOT of stuff. Not a few hundred part numbers, but maybe over a million total items. The trick is, how to weed through a massive amount of numbers to find what you need. I'm kind of with you. I sometimes think our site will be-wilder consumers who aren't savvy with our search features. In the same way walking around a mall will ultimately disgust you until you find that thing in the center that says where all the stores are. "look at that, we walked by Footlocker 12 times and didn't see it." ;)

Even a product line as simple as Novak. We carry 150 different Novak part numbers, can be a large search.

As an example, I was just looking and we have 715 items with the word servo in the description. Over 2300+ part numbers from HPI, 2300+ from Associated, 2000+ from Losi, etc... etc...

It's a lot to manage, and in the case of the consumer, a lot to look through. But hopefully we are doing it in a way that allows you to find the items you need.

Spend some time with our search tools. We designed them so that hopefully you will find what you need, at a price that suits your budget. We also allow, and do searches in very unique ways that nobody else does. You can search by price ranges, with or without thumbnails to speed up your search. Even search by eliminating things that are not in stock, no sense looking for things we don't have if you need something specific right NOW!

I hope, in the end, that you'll find that the search engine on our site is very robust and will help you find EXACTLY what you need, every time.

The way the description search works, you don't need to know any codes or anything special. You can search for a term you want. Then also have it remove a term you don't want. As simple as, "look for", and "don't want".

Example, let's say I want some tires. I go to our search:
http://www.stormerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...n.pl?sthumb=on

and I type in tires. I get 1264 matches... That's almost worthless, that's to many. So let's say I'm looking for 2.2" tires. I just add 2.2 in there and get 162 matches. Let's say I'm looking for something, might have been IMEX. so let's add Imex to "any of". Now a much more manageable result. 12 items. Wouldn't it be cool to compare the pictures of the Axial tires on the same page? just add axial to the "any of" and it finds the tires from axial that matches and adds them to the result with the Imex tires. I then sorted them by lowest to highest price to find the best value, and clicked on the "only items in stock" button to weed out things that are not available or out of stock. Badda-boom, badda-bing !

Here is the result, and how the search looks. Play around with it. The search is your friend and will save you money!

If you ever have trouble finding something on our site, drop us a note, and we'll show you how to find it.

Our site software was written and developed by our in-house software engineers. If you ever have an idea to make a piece of the site better, it's possible we can do it. Got an idea on how to search for something? It's possible we can develop and add that feature.

Hope this was helpful.

Feel free to email us any time. sales@stormerhobbies.com

Thanks for reading,
