| Picked up the 4.3 today.
Complete engine and tranny from a '92 Sonoma. Traded my air/fuel controller and boost controller from the totaled Eclipse for these. After getting an Edelbrock intake and 500cfm carb this will go in the Tracker. On the hoist in the garage and slathered in degreaser. The mess you see is a mix of degreaser and...well...grease! Wanted to put the engine on the stand tonight but I went to Advance for some long bolts...even took a stock bolt with me...but the crap they gave me didn't fit. If you've never used Purple Power as a degreaser, it's awesome...especially when 2 1/2 gallons is only $8. It's even better at finding cuts in your hands that you didn't know you had. Hopefully tomorrow I can get it on the stand and start yanking off all the excess crap. |

Do not get rid of the TBI, it'll run so much better and be way easier to tune.

I put tons of miles on the old 750 double pumper and never had a problem keeping it tuned. Never needed it, really. Dunno...I like the simplicity of a carb. |

Cool.....I dropped a 4.3 TBI in my old Toy truck and run a 5.7 TBI in my buggy. The GM TBI units are very reliable and easy to troubleshoot. Pre '94 engines used the simplest harness system. Jay |

Pretty good score, I would have to agree with Jason on keeping the TBI. You might be even loosing good usable power at a low RPM going backwards with a carb.

I think in the Jegs catalog they have a highflow TBI unit. I was going to put one in my 92 S-10 before I got rid of it. It is a direct bolt on and I have heard good things about it.

Nice find ya got there, 4.3 and a 700 will be fuuuuuuuun in the Tracker. However, I prefer larger valve covers as in GM's 572/720hp crate |
