Default Axle Truss question

I have seen a bunch of rigs with just the axle truss in the rear, same with 1:1 vehicles. Is it not common to have an axle truss on the front axle?

I have searched and have not seen anything on it.

Any help would be appreciated so I can decide if I want to put both on my scale truggy.

Thanks.

OK thanks.

Im just asking if its common for 1:1 rigs to have an axle truss on the front. Most of them only have them on the rear. Guess I just put them both on and see how it looks

Well, since a crawler (both small and larger) spends quite a bit of its time climbing, that means that most of the weight (and therefore stress) is put on the rear axle. A lot of times the tubes will flex which is what causes the axle shaft breakage. You will sometimes find front axle trusses on crawlers...when they are trying to compensate for a weak front housing. You will generally find them on desert race trucks...because, well, I think the reason is obvious.....JUMPS!

I have them on the front and rear of my 2.2 scaler, simply because they make for nice spots for a 4 link without a plate on the front axle.

Thanks for the input guys. I appreciate it.

BlueMonster, do you by chance have a pic of what yours looks like with both truss' ? That is why I wanted both of them on there, so that the link geometry is the same.
