| Living in rock pugatory
OK, here is my problem, I live in Omaha Nebraska. Yes the same Ne that has all the corn and cows, vast open fields rich with growing protential. We have good family values, small town kindness, a football team that 99% of the state loves, and a great LHS with a great indoor carpet track and out door off road track. Life is good but.......................................NO ROCKS!!!!! I would love to hear about any place close that is a good place to go crawling, if any one knows. Another thing, I would really like to go to one of your comps, is there any close to Omaha. If not thats cool, but I would really like to try my trucks out against some of the trucks from this board. |

to far? Denver is 9 hours you are right thou, I just don't think I could talk the wife into going to Denver without completely draining my bank account shopping out there. I was kind of hoping that there would be one close enough that I could drive there in the morning, beat the hell out of my trucks and make it home to crawl in bed with my wife. That way I won't get the guilt trip for leaving her all by her self for a couple days. |

I'm in Cedar Rapids IA, 3 hours. With enough time, could get a gathering together. I also want to see how mine compares to other rigs. Last edited by Cole82; 07-29-2005 at 11:31 PM. |

First of all, the team.... where to begin, oh yeah, the fans are a frightening form of sub-human that think "Big Red" is the only thing in Nebraska, they should really think about getting out more. There is a full spectrum of color that normal people see, not just red.... and yes the LHS is awsome if you don't work there anymore!! I think we should take a trip to Denver and leave the wives here! I've made the trip in 8 hours with no jail time! I here they've got some good hobbyshops there- so it might be worth the trip even if we have to bring the wives. We can always take two vehicles and send them on their way in one. |

There are 4 different hobbyshops I deal with in my immediate area. Chances are one of them has what I'm looking for. Edit: Moved to Chit Chat, there's no tech here. | |

Okay, I took a little time off work today and went looking for rocks. After 4 hours, $18.35 in state park fees, over 100 miles of driving, about 3 miles worth of walking, and talking to state park employees ( which are paid way to much I think for as little as they know) I found I place to crawl. Its not to bad, it is were they blasted for a road way 60 years ago. I was going to take pics but the camera died when I got out there, so I had to chose, take the batterys out of my radio to take pics or crawl. As you can see, no pics but while I was running a local redneck showed up. He procided to tell me about a rock quarry that is about 50 miles from my house. I am going to check it out on Friday and take some pics of all the places I find. And yes, I bought a 20 pack of AA batterys today at the store. |

Okay, here are the pics of the state park I was talking about. That wall at the bottom is between 2 and 3 feet tall. Had to see how good the truck worked on real rocks. The truck works great, I had to see how high the truck could get. That is a lot higher and steeper then it looks. That is the family, my wife Kara and son Greyson. The picture is taken from were the truck is in the pics. I had to zoom in pretty good from up there. P.S. I am scared to death of hieghts and you have to be quite the billy goat to get up there! |

No, as you can see, my wife invited herself along. I really didn't want to drag her to a quarry also. I am planning a little covert spy mission for Sat. (this mean I have to help my dad do something on Sat morning and when I get done I am running out to the quarry) |
