Default Independent Suspension w/ Clearance Loss Compensation

Alright here's another one. What about making a swing arm indy suspension tuber, but have the differential suspended out in front of the buggy on torsion bars. This would eliminate torque twist while still providing small amounts of movement to the low-hanging differential. That way when the suspension flexed and you lost clearance, if the pumpkin hit a rock it could flex up and out of the way like the rest of the suspension...Or something...

Go buy some brakeline and build it instead of just wondering "What if?". And if it does work, you'll have created something everyone else will copy, thus advancing this hobby even more

I was asking for input from the more experienced people here to see if it would work-I don't want to spend money on something that wouldn't work.

Legos work well.

The way I see it though having any flex or spring in the drivetrain is bad. It's not very predictable nor usually very strong.

Here you go. It's really rough but it gets the point accross. The main difference is that the differential is suspended by some sort of moving piece. You could replace the swing arms with regular a-arms and get the same effect.

Yeah I still don't see that working well. The axle shafts will put a twist on the diff that will send the diff up and down.

If you spline the diff linkage arm with the suspension linkage then it would solve that issue but then you might as well have solid axle.

There are many advantages to solid axle, diff moving with axle is just one of the many advantages.
