well i went to the jefferson swamp meet today and found a awsome set of wheels and tires for my truck they are 6 lug chevy , and had a chrome finish to them . the chrome is comeing of the rims like it just peeling away from thr face of the rim so wondering bout how much it will cost to get them redone in chrome or would it be better just to strip all the chrome and polish the aluminum to a nice bright finish

Rechroming is pretty expensive. But it really depends on what you want to spend. I know to get the bumpers rechromed on my dads fairlane it was nearly $400. Maybe that was just because of the length, but Id still guess your gonna be looking at least $100-$150 a wheel. (Prices here may very from your location though.) Nice thing about polished aluminum is when the shine isnt as brite, you can always polish them back up. With Chrome, once they pit and the shine goes, you have to rechrome again.. What size rims did ya end up getting? |

I would try to strip and polish. If you are not into polishing all the time. you could have them polished and then powdercoated with a clear.
